I've developed X-MOD for version 1.0.0, and so it can call some exceptions with later versions (theoretically). If you can test it on MTFK2 1.0.0, please do it. It's important for me to know there are any differences between RU and EN versions of the game.
First point is that's very cool a RU modder give a look here. I have played X-mod 0.93 with the user map Day at the Bay and it seems work fully fine. I checked M2 debug and error logs and if I'm not wrong, with M2 1.0.97 original I have only one message related to an unknown property and with X-mod 0.93 and normally no other mod, I have those error messages but myself I didn't notice anything during the play.
Code:
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( win_text )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( win_title_text )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( but_yes_hint )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( but_ok_hint )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( but_not_hint )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(40): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( INTERNET_LOGIN, text )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(40): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( INTERNET_LOGIN, text )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(40): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( INTERNET_LOGIN, text )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( but_ok_visible )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( but_yes_visible )
1639.8281: .\SystemLevel\Messages\MessageSending.cpp(52): [GUIChangeProperty() ] ERROR: ChangeProperty( but_not_visible )
I strongly doubt it's an important error, probably more coming from a small differences between RU and EU versions in one of the files modified by X-Mod more than errors coming from X-mod changes.
Ideas of different people often coincide. =) I've wanted to add additional strings to heroes table too, but was late.)
I took me some time to understand the stuff and achieve some results. As you can see in the snapshot it's not achieved. So there are many points to solve like using smaller font size for hints, understand what's the problem with streching the icons borders, and more.
If you want I could send you a more clean version with the scrollbar, original icon size and just one row added, this version should be totally clean visually and would not involve too much additional stress to video memory. Just pm an email if you want that, each modification is commented with original value and sometimes few comments to explain what I think to have understand. Just PM an email where send you some links.
But this method doesn't work with versions 1.0.0 and 1.1.88.
Well I don't see the reason to play the 1.0.0, I have it installed too but only to play with the editor, I just switch profiles to switch between the multiple versions I installed.
P.S. Today or tomorrow I'll release X-MOD v0.95, and next version will support MTFK2 1.0.29 RU and 1.0.97 EN.
Cool, I'm working on something too but well I'm still struggling with code exploration and test to list all possible and gameplay design. So I'm very far from any release if there is any.
About RU mods in fact I played more Majesty 1 to Majesty 2 mod but my play with X-Mod .93 give me the desire to try it with the original maps. With Bay at the Day it could involves a too rude play but that could refresh my interest in the original maps.
P.P.S. Could you tell me who from administrators or moderators I may appeal to decide the issue with registration?
Good question, the best is perhaps to open a thread with the question in the title? The point is I have no name to suggest, I hope someone will answer this.
EDIT: One point would be to have a mod forum that both community, RU and EU check sometimes to share stuff. If that cannot be the secret Paradox sub forum, why not open something else with an English language base but some publicity in RU mod forums?
