I know it was just released, but is this going to be a mod-able game and are any being worked on?
Paradox unfortunately funds their games to the bare minimum. "features" like you know, a completed game, with a finalized manual, are not what they do. So more advanced features like mod support are not likely to happen. Not that it cant be done, the new DLC is a mod essentially, just that paradox is more likely to want to charge for all the content than see the community make content for free.
That is totally bull. Have you looked into some of the other subforums? Magma Mundi essential started as a mod for EU III. Paradox have a great modding community and have always been supportive about modding.
The problem about modding this game as far as I have understod is that where many of the in house produced games are made to be able to read .txt files and chamge the game based upon them, this game have not. Why it haven't I am not sure, but it seems to be hinted that it was to improve performance.
If the game can't be modded with simple text we can either unpack it, mod it, repack it or get a real modding tool.
As Ino properly have bought certain parts of the code there will be legal issues about unpacking to repack as that leave code patented by another firm open.
Inos programmers properly have a modding tool they use to mod the game, but as most of us aren't hardcore programmers we would properly want a simplified version (Again there may be legal problems with them handeling it directly to us) So what we want is either that the program be rewritten to accept .txt files as most other paradox games or Ino making a modding tool for us. Either way it is something that will take time for them to make and currently they are working toget the multiplayer part working.
At least that is the problem as I have understod it.
And I dont consider changing values in a txt file modding. I call that just tweaking, and as you pointed out even that is not something we can do.
