Any idea how many unique techs are in the game?

I'm just curious if anyone has any idea how many researchable unique (not procedural) techs we might be looking forward to on release.

300 is a great number, especially if I have the option to slow down research.

And I can only expect this number to increase with the release of new expansions and mods.

The more techs I can research, the longer the game will hold my attention during late game, just to see what else is out there I can discover.

To me, procedural techs, while useful, are just more of the same old stuff. Nothing new and exciting to research. It tells me I've reached the point where the developers decided "enough is enough" with the tech system.

Just to note, Wiz said you wouldn't get all of them in a particular game. I imagine he's referring to ones blocked by ethos, events and research projects.

They confirmed that a bit more then 300 individual techs are ingame.
Presumably about 15-40 are reserved each for ethos and rare techs (like anomaly research and such), which leaves about 200-250 for the "normal" gameplay.
After that there are upgrades for existing techs like "Deathray 5% bonus" and so on, so you can still research and advance your techs.

And there's always a chance that if you decline to research a rare tech, that it might show up again in a later draw.
Not that I would EVER decline to research a rare tech, but if two or more were presented as simultaneous options, that would be harsh.

Well theres no need for research time delay settings as research gets slow more pops you have and stronger tech your researching, even if outputing alot some might take 30 years to research.

Even the non-unique techs will add diversity as you will need to research them from time to time and that makes the unique techs a bit more unique and such makes them even more interesting. A well dosed sprinkling of filler makes the whole experience better.
