Any help to increase the speed of the game in a laptop?

Well, when i cleaned the exhaust fan on my own laptop, the game speed became perhaps 2-3 faster. Yeah i know

I used to have no trouble playing at speed 5 before 1.3. Now the game just lags too much, I'm now at speed 4 by default...

I believe I am at sepeed 2, even though I play in level 5

Depends on the laptop really. There are laptops more powerful than desktop PCs out there. What are your laptop's specs?

dropping the resolution from 1366x768 to 1280x720 saw about a 10 fold (if not more) increase in speed on my laptop.

pretty sure leaving 'bloom' turned on in the graphics settings makes it run faster, I thought it was meant to make it run slower. turn off the rest except 'borders'.
