Any funny first game experiences?

Was playing denmark (1st game). After some time almost all countries declared war at Russia so I thought I'm gonna use it to my advantage and liberate Helsinki, Finland while the big boys take care of the Russian armies somewhere much more south.
So I send a few ships carrying 3 divisions (3x1200 men, didnt understand you gotta increase your budget AND reinforce in order to get 10k sized divisions).
Helsinki is soon liberated and I thought that I was like the smartest guy because I get a couple of provinces for "free" while russians must fight with big boys Prussia, Austria down south.
So I wanna liberate our friends Estonia, too, with now about 2500 men or whatever I had left.
What's next? 600k russian soldiers come to say hello to my boys..

Heh, I still became 6th as Denmark and it was normal/normal

I did pretty much the same thing as Sweden, except my armies were full size and I had 8 divs. Russia took my entire country

Last night as Russia myself... all world in my neighbourhood DOWs Austria and I honour my alliance with all of them (I was a good boy) and step into this mess.

I take 1/3rd of Austrian lands incl. their capital within a few weeks.

And what do I see? None of the other majors - France, Germany, England, and what not - is actually fighting! UK and China lend me one foot division each (in the Far East). I end up running around whacking partisans and fighting Austrian hordes while everyone else just sits there watching me no doubt with amusement. Russian fools fighting on everyone's behalf, once again.

And Austrians wouldn't sign a white peace despite my high war score.

Had to use 'neville' to white-peace out of it on this board's advice.

Same for me a few hours ago with Denmark attacking Two Sicilies. I get plummeled (is that the word) by 600K troops against my 208K. UK is my ally and what do they do? They land 9000 men in the same place I'm fighting to get killed in a week.

I eventually practically kill off the entire Two Sicilian army but I had to wait for them to offer a peace (couldn't conquer the entire country due to a massive fuckton of partisans) and only gained 3 provinces.

LOL. I am about to get whipped by the Russians as Ottoman Empire i think, but its nice to see that that is consistent with others

I was playing Prussia in GC and watched Dutch loose war with Belgium (they lost some 1 province). It was about 1840 and now that Netherlands were sometimes annoying neighbour, i mobilized and declared them war...with total of some 100k men.
Netherlands had no troops, so it looked like an easy and short war..i felt happy and so SMART when i occupied first 3 provinces and continued ..i did light a cigarette..and within two weeks, about 6 dutch armies, each between 100k - 300k appeared ..to be short, i lost quite nice part of Rhineland and felt really STUPID :wacko:

On the other hand - in other game i saw AI Russia and UK in constant wars in the period 1850-1912..during this period they bought became independent nations, Russia lost all of their eastern posessions and UK lost all their colonies (due to revolts and wars with other nations). As France i was enjoying this like a x-mas gift :rofl:

Another one - as Belgium fighting with UK (yep,i like beating those "rose" guys )..i just put some 50k armies to the border and entretched waited for brits to show up..and they came. They were for some 9 years attacking directly from sea my coastal armies loosing every single battle and refusinf all white peace offers. When losses ratio was about 9k : 200k they offered me so much provinces that i could not even count them. Long live the AI
