So I personally am a big fan of the STG 44 and I know there are some earlier variants that should fit the time frame if the STG 44 doesn't so I am curious if any of the german divisions will be getting a unit with some STG 44s.

Inb4 more Falschirmjagers with space rifles
The Falschirmjagers already have their FG 42 which is the assault rife made for Falschirmjagers. The STG 44 was issued to ground troops not Falschirmjagers. It was also most heavily used on the eastern front but I do hope we will see some units with them in game.

The MP43 was first issued to Ostfront units before the end of 1943, so it's technically in timeframe but I don't know if it's in TO&E. I've seen some claims that they were issued to SS units in Normandy by June 1944, but only in extremely limited numbers. Most people seem to agree that they did not reach Western Front units in any significant numbers before November 44.

The only specific division anyone seems to name as receiving MP44s in Normandy before November is 1st SS, which supposedly had ~120 rifles.

Ah thanks for the info. Shame as it definitely sounds like we won't be seeing them as they are quite a nice weapon.

In early 44 around 30 German Divisions had recieved MP/STG 43/44 shipments, now i must add the germans normaly send to the units STGs in the numbers to let the division convert in each infantry company one of the three platoons to STG 44 platoons. There are further indicators that some STG 43s were delivered in a tiny number (around 60) to the 2. SS Division Das Reich and some more wildly distributed, maybe to the Sturm Batallion AOK 7.
Further there are some pictures of Soldiers of the 2. Panzer Division, 17.SS Pz Gren Div, a soldier of an unknown unit with STG 44 besides Rommel and some others. But overall its safe to say that the STG 44 was only used in forgetable numbers.
Another one, thats pure speculation by me could be the Pionierschule Angers who deployed a Btl on the normandy front, since german schools recieved usualy new weapons very soon to train the course members on them.
Squad from the 2. Pz Div with STG 44 http://s135.photobucket.com/user/behblc/media/Save0002-9.jpg.html

Squad from the 17. SS, it is unknown if the picture is taken in normandy but likely. http://odkrywca.pl/forum_pics/picsforum17/granatieri17ssinnormandia.jpg

Well you have to wait for a dlc with Jäger units, they got prefered deliveries for STGs, a squad had one MG 42, six MPs, later replaced with STG 44 and two K 98k/G43, they let the Stosstrupps look like amateurs in terms of raw firepower.

It would be very hard to get an accurate number of Stg44's used in Normandy. I have quite a few Meldung reports that cover June 1944, including those for the GvB and the 2nd Pz division and they don't list Stg44's as a seperate category.

The GvB list personnel weapons as Gewehre 98, Gewehre 98 mit ZF, Gewehre 41, Pistolen 08, 38, Pistolen 7.65mm and ffinally M. Pi.

The 2nd Pz division list them as Karibiner, Zielfernrohrgewehre, Gewehre 41 und 43, M.P. and finally Pistolen.

Gewehre 98 mit Zf & Zielfernrohrgewehre are sniper rifles.
