Any chance we will see some youtubers get to play a bit early?

Nintendo knows about it. At least in Germany there are many popular Nintendo Let's Players who get games earlier to play them. They even get the permision for competitions with Nintendo prices etc.

A few months ago Nintendo still ripped of Let's Players but simply taking all of their add revenue.

I personally have no issue with early Let's Plays. It helps me to get over that day 1 learning curve that so many Paradox games come with ;-)

Totally agree with the marketing strategy. I think I first found out about Stellaris through youtube and then checked out a lot of the internet media and then ended up here, preordered and ready to go.

Just so you can reach the most people could i get access to the review build. I am sure to tell all my friends

I personally use Let's plays mostly to inform myself about games that look interesting to me and to come to a buy/don't buy decision. I also use these as tutorials after buying the game.

I very rarely buy gaming magazines or visit their Hompages. I am simply not interested in 80% of the games these medias are reporting about.

Quill and Arumba would be a safe guess. Quill was given early access to EUIV and also already played at Pdox. So I'd say he's the single most safest pick.

Seriously now, it would be very interesting to know exact numbers here. The impact of YouTube Videos on sales and other aspects is a highly important topic, I guess. Do you have any sources?

More like people arguing over marketing of games with people who make games. It's just about who gets a press release copy and who doesn't. Although it has to be said that cKnoor and Wiz (but cKnoor especially) are doing a lot of work for the marketing.

I probably would not have purchased Stellaris or Europa Universalis if it wasn't for youtube. I saw Stellaris and other games from this publisher in magazines (get like 2 regularly) but never really cared or it did not appeal to me that much. See I always hated RTS games. I was always a turn based fan, love games such as XCOM2, CIVILIZATION, heck even Football Manager which is a form of turn based .
Then all the sudden I decided to watch those two funny dudes with the blorg and got hooked real fast! started watching more twitch videos of other games that Paradox makes and decided there was enough similarity to stellaris from Europa Univ to purchase it and get a feel.
So in conclusion what I am saying is believe it or not there are people out there that had no idea how awesome Paradox games are and thanks to people on Twitch or Youtube are becoming fans. Magazines DO NOT have the same impact as watching...

I believe that magazines are marketing tools. But, I don't believe youtubers are. Just don't see it.

Youtubers have a HUGE amount of influence. Pretty much any game company i imagine would kill to get TotalBiscuit do a video about their game. That's at the very least 300k views in the bag. Traditional gaming press can only dream of such numbers.
