I managed to form the HRE relatively early, and have now cored on all the Germanic provinces (after the 50 years) that I didn't start out with. I've eaten up a lot of Asian and African land, but I am half way through the game. Do I have any chance of a World Conquest here? I could probably capture all the remaining provinces on purely military grounds, but I'm not sure it will be possible to keep my badboy low enough. If it's possible, what tactics should I use?

If you are big and strong enough then you won't need to worry about infamy I don't think. They won't dare attack you anyway and even if they do, they will lose

It is possible, but not where you are right now though. By 1650 you need to be reaching the western coast of the pacific.

Yeah but you will get tons of events that cause rebellions, making high badboy a disaster that is unsustainable.

Those are really nasty, but given a large enough army, shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just leave some guards behind in every part of the empire and set them to rebel hunting duty.

I really like the sound of 'Imperial Asia' and what not. Is very nice. :D

Completely off-topic, linked only by the word Imperial: Is there a Elder Scrolls mod for EU 3?

There was for a while but it was incredibly buggy and not very playable. Im sure its still around somewhere though

Did you register an account just to tell me that? Because if so, fair play. :D

I search the google machine and it only turned up a forum where the idea was proposed but never fleshed out. For a dedicated modder, The CK2 mod would have a lot of the needed lore and maps I' reckon. Would be easy to convert, even if that only meant painstakingly going through each aspect and converting it to EU3 applicable code. Basically, no time wasted in the pre-development cycle.

*turns sharply left*
Alright, we've seen that, back onto the main road. What sliders make WC the easiest?

well WC without badbay problems was done by prawnstar in 5.1 so 5.2 should be fine aswell. you would have had to take out the colonizers early though. Taking out portugal and castille + england. is almost no infamy for the new world. However you are so big now that you can just try to smash your way trough the badboy events.

thats micro intensive though,

What's a realistic goal for this game then? Owning Europe, Asia, and Africa?

If it were me starting at this point, I would aim to annex Iraq to unite my two lands in Europe and Asia, also Byzantium for the same reason. Then I would see if I could completely take over the British Isles, Norway, Finland, Iberia - unite the whole of Europe basically. If there was time after that you could maybe go for Persia and Oman. African land tends to be a bit worthless so I wouldn't even bother with that and I would probably be too lazy to go for the Americas or the Far East.

I think, a WC might still be possible. Not entirely sure, but maybe. I did a WC once, where I didn't do much at all for the first ~50 years, didn't play optimal and still finished 50 years before the end date.
Important things to note if you want to try it:
- Use the last 32 years of holy war as well as you can. Just before 1650 hits, start several holy wars with infidels, you will still be able to complete them with the cheap CB.
- Force personal unions on all Christian nations. When you inherit, you will inherit their colonies as well. If there are any republics left, destroy them as soon as you get a reasonable CB (at max 2 infamy/province, most likely Imperialism). You need to stop them from colonizing, otherwise you will need to use more infamy. It may be necessary to declare a war on them and occupy them (not annexing) just to keep them down.
- Maximize infamy reduction (fairly obvious). Get the NI cabinet as soon as possible, always have a 5-6 star diplomat. NEVER get to zero infamy.
- As soon as possible, grab the NI Revolution and Counter-Revolution. Use it. If necessary, change governments every few years, just to get those juicy 1 infamy/province.

Best of luck.

A WC is probably still possible (you really should've blocked the colonizers ideally, though). The question is more whether it'd be pleasant, and the answer is definitely not.
