Anthology or DD + Armageddon

I'm seriously contemplating getting HOI2. I can get Anthology for 15 euros shipping included or instead buy DD and Armageddon separately from gamersgate for a total of 25 euros.

Is anthology the obviously better choice that I think it is?

Anthology:

HoI + HoI2 + HoI2 Doomsday + HoI2 Doomsday Armageddon = 15 euros

GamersGate:

HoI2 Doomsday + Armageddon = 25 euros


Seems to me that the Anthology is a better choice.

What does Armageddon do anyway in practice? Is it of any use?

Anthology, there's no doubt about that. You even get a shiny medal and a map.

Armageddon brings naval brigades and several enhancements in air combat and AI, I suggest playing it instead of DD. The only downside to it is that it has serious performance issues in mid to late game.

I didn't want to make a new thread so I think my issue suits here. I was wondering... I saw HOI 2 in a shop and it was pretty cheap. If I decide to buy it, how does the registration go in that case? If you click that "My Games/Registrations" on the top, you can only see Armageddon and Anthology. Does that serial I get from HOI 2 match neither of those boxes or am I forced to buy either of those two in order to complete my registration? Thank you.

You cannot register HOI2, only Arma and the Anthology. It works just fine you just can't register it.
