but we also have someone doing their master thesis here to improve them.

I understand that trawling through data is not fun, but a few more questions would've been good. Things like, if you are stuck in game, do you use tutorials to help yourself?

Tutorials in a paradox game would be like induction day for being prime mininister.

rather than making several tutorials I think a (limited) campaign game tutorial would fit msot of the players instead. A campaign with closed events driving the game to act at some point with diplomacy, war, navy, colonization, whatever ... and open to player decisions. Something like these books that take you to different pages depending on the decisions you are making.

The learning of the interface will come with playing, I don't think it is the most important problem for these games but to learn what things you can do and when you want to do them.

That is in my opinion the problem that victoria, for instance, had to be well understood by many.
