Hi all.

Firstly, I love the game! It's probably the only game on my PC that has a chance of getting me divorced In that addicted to it! Whilst playing though, I'm came up with a few ideas that might be cool.

1. City fights - possibly difficult to implement but stomping around a part of a city of town would be great fun.
2. VIP mechs pilots? - when I took a contract to kill a diplomat I didn't expect him to be piloting a 60t mech. I don't know many government officials that know their way around military hardware. Assassination missions where the VIP is in a truck might make it a little more interesting.
3. Viable escape routes - most missions where the primary objective is complete and I m given the option to run almost always have me wading through the last of the enemy resistance. It kinda makes hit-n-run pointless.
4. Story Log - other than writing something manually, there doesn't seem to be a feature which records the highlights (and low points) of your company. I'm thinking something like Crusader Kings 2 where the game records the history of your family, but in Battletech there could be options to mark a particular characters death, achievements, particularly successful contracts or terrible defeats. Something then that could be shared by the community.

That's all I've got for now. I'm really excited to see what new content HAS created for us and if they decide to run another Battletech Kickstarter then they can have more of my money!

Instead of adding to the tread spam here, I thought I'd just update this one with extra suggestions I've not long thought of.

5. Morale - more could be done with this mechanic I think, for example a particularly successful mission where you barely take any damage could give a +1 Morale, and any mission where limbs or lives are lost could be a -1 Morale. It would provide extra considerations as to which contract to take or when to withdraw.
6. Pilot Skills - Cast your mind back to the MechCommander series and you'll get where I'm going. I think it would be great to further specialise your pilots, encouraging you to care for them more and to use different tactics when your A-team gets injured. This can be further supported by lowering the global To-Hit chances and etc, which are already a tad high, and means certain skills would have more potency.

7. Ability to sell partial mechs (or just delete them) as they fill up storage and need to make room!!!
8. Yes on City battles, when a tall building falls on you you take damage

I'll second selling partial mechs, I've got Locusts and Spiders filling up my cargo hold! I know it's probably better to wait for the full mech, but it effects my sense of order and tidyness.

I'm guessing that eventually we stop running into very many light mechs, and it would be nice to clear out the partials that will probably never be completed.

Something very simple that I think would be so much better: a minimap during missions. Even if it was relatively simple, something that indicated the entirety of the map and the locations of your mechs and any enemy units you are currently aware of. It would be so much better than having to pan the camera across the entire map just to try and locate a single sensor 'ping' that just popped up.

YES. Having some idea of the scope of the engagement area and where to look for that latest ping would be a great element.

I'd also like the option to be able to recruit your main character(s) from previous playthroughs in a new playthrough, possibly with the caveat that to do so, the previous main character must have completed the main story first, before the new main character can recruit them.

The AI is not restricted in the number of mechs and can field so even late game / high level missions still appear to occassionally include Locusts or other interesting Lights as part of a silly number of mechs for you to fight, what does happen however is that you will never be voluntarily selecting lights as salvage as there will almost always be something better in the list! Even if you had two parts of a locust your still never going to pick that last piece over a 60 or 70+ ton mech part of which almost every mission will have that or better!

Minimap would be grand to have.

I'm still not keen on the whole "raising the global threat level" idea to keep game play more challenging for the player. My head can't get around pirates/brigands/etc having a lance of heavy mechs let alone assault mechs.

The periphery should be a little easier than that - the challenge then being to compete enough contracts to cover your monthly expenses or risk downsizing. Leave the tougher contracts for FWL/CC/FS territories.
