Hello, I've tried reading the event files and searching for the information but i don't read events very well and search did not turn up exactly what i was looking for. Could someone please tell me the conditions for italy to form (provs held, etc) and what nations can form it? and is it just mantua, milan, modena, savoy and tuscany? why can't venice, for instance?

i would really appreciate it..thanks!!

It's in the FAQ thread, but basically:

1) Be an Italian principality (not the Pope, not Genoa, not Venice).
2) Be Catholic or Counter-Reform.
3) Control 5 provinces in northern Italy (Lombardia, Firenze, Siena, Piemonte, etc.). Any 5 should work as long as they're on the "short" list in the event.
4) EITHER have high relations with the Pope OR Austria, OR have both Austria AND the Pope as vassals.
5) Have +3 Stab and <6 BB.

If this conditions are fulfilled, one of the three options will fire. The Pope and Emperor paths have their ups and downs; they give less BB and stuff, but the Pope path doesn't give you as many cores and both the Pope and Emperor can refuse your request for the crown of Italy. If you take the force majeur route, well, nobody can say anything. This is preferable, but watch out if you try to vassalize Austria later on.

The reason Venice, Genoa, etc. can't form the KOI is because they don't have kings. Venice is a republic, for example. You have to be an Italian prince to have a shot at being a king.

Just a precision :
4.1) EITHER have high relations with the Pope or Austria AND in alliance with the one you wish to have high relations with (+RM if Austria chosen) AND not be vassal of Austria nor Pope nor France AND <6 BB
4.2) OR have both Austria AND the Pope as vassals.
5) Have +3 Stab

austria why austria?

in the game i played as savoy the emperor was never an Haupsburg Monarch: was the king of Saxony, Mecklemburg, Brandenburg, Palatinate usw.
It couldn't be better link the creation of Italy to the REAL (in the game of course) emperor?

It is damn hard to script - you have an event set for every country who could ever become Emperor.

You had to conquer Rome and release Pope as vassal and if Austria wasn't happy for Tyrol, you should have vassalized them too... No matter what is BB in this case (force_majeure) :D
