Because every modern programming language known to man comes with very efficent date handling 'routines' that could easily give you the day for any date - past or future - accurately.

February 30th is sloppy. What next? Mainland Germany being 10 miles off the east coast of Australia, because it's just a game?

Their code should handle this; it would take no serious effort at all.

I just seems like a lot of effort or little return. They'd have to have the date code, change the display for when units are going to be ready etc and change to code of unit movement code. Possilbe other this run off those codes too. If it was easy to do they'd have done it to beign with.
