i know many people talk about a gold prov needed in west africa to represent what the portugese got out of that region through trade and such...but also...every picture i see of ancient indian, cambodian even china artifacts it seems these nations had access to rather large amounts of gold themselves...where did they get it? which provinces would be best if i were to redo a goods item for the far east? i suspect an inland one between india.cambodia area sicne its quite pissble both india and cambodia got thers from same source or did they? it was it spread through trade from one to the other?...
any histoircal help here would be appreciated < if there is justification for it i will edit my game to include a gold prov in that region...i just want to see what people have to say on it first before i do so..im am already going to add one to west africa according to the info mentioned in the igc 2.4 in scenario i believe

senex posted this in scenario form...after researching it it fits...also most people in that forum also agreed

i am quoting from AFRICA by john reader: (p 361)
Zanzibar was the first swahili town to be taken by sailing heavily armed vessels into harbors of swahili towns and demanding submission to the rule of portugal(1503)
i loved the discussion about native american tribes, which would add a fascinating dimension to what becomes hum drum colonization. There are many good books showing locations of the tribes, as well as a beautiful map by national geographic on the subject (indians of north america(1979). I love it when the provinces in the game are named after the tribes that actually lived there, or the names the tribes gave to an important village(ie,hochelaga) whoever did the igcs is nothing short of brilliant, and this has given me a real love for the game.
question 1) i have researched leaders from leader files, but some i can never pin down : La Palice(french) Camoens(portugese)
question 2) is there any way to get columbus there and back in 6 months?
question 3) i have tried to get magellan in the sea zone off rio but to no avail. Is it possible? Anyway, in the game it would be impossible for him to make it around the world in the 2 or so years(he and el cano)
the portugese established(1482) a trading center for gold off the coast of modern day ghana (792, accra in the game) they traded slaves for gold. igc 1492 shows a 4 tp at Palanas(794)(cape palmas?).
i believe it belongs in accra(792) and should be a colony, since tps in gold provinces dont generate money unless they are colonies. they were getting 1/2 ton per year from el mina, which accounted for a sizeable portion of all the gold going to europe. anyway the zones need to be renamed in this area:
1129 = grain coast
1130 = gold coast
1132 = slave coast
