When you see this screen, does it mean that all four Chinese divisions attack my single division at the same time, so their total breakthroughs added up VS my 21 soft attack. Or they attack sometimes once at a time, or several at a time (randomly), then my high-soft attack just blasts them accordingly.

Because this can lead to really misleading estimate. For example, during the battle of Fuzhou, the red marker keeps saying that I will lose in less than a day, but I ended up holding the line far longer than the computer gives me credit for. This really gives me unnecessary paranoia. I found that organisation is a best way to tell whether I can defend better. For example, my this current brave commander Naruhiko has helped to hold the city for seven days, while my divisional organization remain quite high (providing that combat strength is not too low...)

This is another example. The computer wildly inaccurate estimate is giving me exasperation!

Edit: I can assume that as long as the division organisation is more than half, I can continue to hold. Let me know what you think? Would like to be corrected in my thinking.

Don't know how the computer measures win probability, but I find bubbles to be untrustworthy in general. All units attack once every turn, i.e. 1 hour. All units operate at an individual level and select targets randomly AFAIK. If two or more units attack the same target their attack stats add up to determine how much exceeds enemy defense/breakthrough. Exceeding amount has 4 times higher chance to hit the enemy.

Meaning there is a chance that two divisions will sit idly by, while other two attack?
No no, they always attack something, it's just that what they attack is entirely up to them. It's why 40W is ideal for offensive divisions; 40 width worth of battalions are guaranteed to focus on a single target.

No, they all attack at the same time but your division only attack one enemy each hour and other enemy division breakthrough or defense will not help.

Even in defending, try defend in number then you can save a lot of casualties. If you cannot defend in force, try to withdraw.
