Go play an Iron man game.
Colonize.
Raise your colony's liberty desire.
Set them free, select the option to play as your new colony.
Wonder why on earth your new colony has become an administrative monarchy. Even if the mother country hasn't reached the proper technology to become one. Seriously, Paradox? You give us almost no possible way to play as a colonial nation in Iron Man games, and the one way that does work makes them monarchies? I'm sure if you happen to be a Republic thats colonizing, your colony will stay a Republic as well (I would hope), but thats not much comfort.
Every time I play 1.4, I'm finding something new to upset me. That's... less than optimal.
Oh, even better: My new country is ruled by Henry IV Tudor. Lets look at the problems with that:
- The Tudors are not the royal house of England. Okay, so the game picks a random royal house.
- It also picks a random regnal number. Considering that he's the first King of America, shouldn't he be King Henry I? Well, maybe its just based on England's regnal numbers... no, cuz England starts under Henry VI.
Gah.
EDIT: PS, the Iron Man part doesn't really matter for this, but it locks you in to changing through this fashion, and also locks you into staying as this new monarchy.
