This is a good idea, but I think that in practice it would seriously unbalance the game. I can just imagine, as the good old OE, serially force-vassallising every nation to my east, right up to and including Japan, and then serially diplo-annexing them. No revolt risk. Massively increased cores. Genghis Khan would tremble at my might. Or consider the BWB, rampaging across Europe. Not even Charles V would be able to come close to My Imperial Majesty.

I think this idea has its virtues, but it would unbalance the game if put in, as is. Instead, IMO it's going to be fertile ground for events. I expect this is exactly the sort of trigger we will be able to use in new events, diplo- or forced annexation. Something beyond the current "owned". At least, that seems to be entailed by the promised modders delights. Therefore, we could come up with events which would fire for the annexation of one country, or set of countries, by a member of another set of countries, who would get the cores (or some of them). Annexation by other countries would not give these cores, or would give fewer of them. Assuming we could do that, wouldn't that work?

well, I dont see how thats any different from making event in EU2, which while not hard is a hassal for somthing that wouldnt be out of place in the game.

Add cores by all means, but I dont like the idea of adding cultures, take Britain, both in Scotland and Ireland everyone speaks English, but no one in England speaks Gaelic, likewise in France no one in 'core' France speaks Breton or Provencal etc. The capital stays in your country and all the aristocrats come to your capital and acclimatize and aspire to the dominant culture. Th peasants back home remain smelly, troublesome, foreign peasants.

It might be nice to link this to the decentralization-centralization slider as well, say the more decentralized you are the more chance you have of getting (some of) the annexed countries cores. Again it would go towards balancing this out a bit - Emre is right, a centralized Ottoman empire with cores from Croatia to Korea is scary!
