Yes, Monsieur Pierre, you are vraiment a rare French (about Napoleon theme).

When I talk with my French friends, they don't understand why he is hated in Spain, v.g. They only see the fight for freedom, etc..

But his fight was bloody, specially in the Peninsular war and more.

I read several years ago the Nostradamus lines about Napoleon; he would be rather a butcher than a prince, and he was nearly the truth (and I laugh of astrology.....
Si non é vero, é ben trovato (Brunelleschi, I think)...

Napoleon brought sorrow and pain in Europe as well as in France.
French forgot what he did in France and they don't care what he did in Europe.
His military 'prowess' is the only thing important for most here.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound snappy, just that what you described was the original poster's idea.

Apologies for how it came out before.[/B]

No worries.
I agree that the fact I quoted the post could have lead to a misunderstanding.
I just wanted to remind people what I was commenting.

Pisa was Charles b***h essentially, they were technically independant, but they did what Charles told them to pretty much since they had no real army and everybody hated them for medizing. I guess vassal would be appropraite. Also, Pisa should be able to become Independant in EU.
