* The Naval AI has had alot of love, and should now be performing alot better.
* Declaring wars on nations with much lower (currently 20) civilisation value should no longer required a casus belli.
* Worth of provinces when negotiating peace is now scaled depending on the size of the country, so Judea as an example may be worth 2% when demanding it off a giant Seleukid Empire, but maybe 50% of a small minor owning it.
* Britain has gained a few playable tribes.

We are also adding more events & more diplomatic/intrigue actions to do with characters.

The reworking of ruler changes is great news...does this mean I can have more of an impact on military tribal succession (ie: by giving men military or civil command?), and will the system using a degree of direct descent to prevent Guy McRandomcreated from popping in and siezing control?

Maybe the new patch combined with finally getting my computer fixed so as to play it for more than 10 consecutive minutes will change my opinion of Rome.

I like the sound of all the 1.3 improvements :)

But I miss a little bit more of diplomatic depth, with some special diplomatic rules and actions with your tributaries, like asking them to stop commercing with X country (and if they do you get a CB), or to allow you to levy units from its population, things like that.

I'd also like a Roman version of EU's diploannex procedure, something like a path from tributary state -> client state -> province.

And of course (Illirian) pirates!!!

What is sorely needed in Rome, is a deeper diplo system, an auto system for governors, and most important, the diploannex system you propose. As of now, Rome is shallow and tiresome to play. It's a level or two below EU3 when it came out. It desperately need a NA, or better, IN.

It'd be nice if, as a leader, you could arrange marriages for your sons and daughters. You should be able to offer their hand in marriage to sons/daughters of other families. That would stop your daughters marrying the oldest, most unsuccessful wasters in the character pool.
