Whenever my character transitions to a new area or speaks to a person, there seems to be a black screen that lasts for a couple of seconds before I can actually see anything. There is absolutely no problem with performance and the game runs very smoothly, however. Is there any solution to this besides turning the option off?

In configure before you start the game, try to activate or deactivate Load texture on demand and see how it goes.
