I think that if this were a fantasy forum, you'd be a thread necromancer

That, and YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Nah, I just don't think there's much need to start new threads when there are old threads that are fairly relevant to what I want to say ;)

I think VickyWiki is quite useful if you aren´t sure about some details in Victoria and want to check those details. Keep up good work Rafiki! :)

P.S. I think your list of leaders´traits doesn´t include brilliant. That´s strange because R.E.Lee has that trait.

You're right. It's not included in the list that is part of the manual. However, it is included in the automatically generated version available at the old Camp Victoria-site, which will be brought into VickyWiki sometime soon.

BTW, in the further interest of "thread necromancy", I went looking for the thread where Chris Wilkinson originally suggested putting up a wiki for Victorian purposes, where I found this little tid-bit:

I honestly don't think it's worth the hassle, especially since we've got a great page (victoria.nsen.ch) where stuff like this can be posted already.
I'm very glad he changed his mind about it! :D

Nice to have this in one place. It would take weeks to filter this info from the enormous amount in the forums.

I find it slightly confusing that each and every country have their own entry in the main menu - making it spill over on two pages. Couldn't you gather this under a single heading e.g. Country-specific information

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Are you thinking of the "assorted guides"-page and would like to see the countries collected in one page/article?

The aim here is to collect enough information/strategy for each nation in due time, so that having a page for each nation will be necessary; we're not there yet, unfortunately.

I'd also like to find a way to "merge" pages, so that it is possible to have several articles collected into one page. This would e.g. be useful for printing the manual. Again, unfortunately, we haven't figured out if there is a way to do that yet.

VickyWiki has been up for just over a month, and judging by the statistics and the logs, it seems to have a steady amount of traffic.

But what do people think of it? What do you like? What don't you like?

This isn't a fishing trip for "You guys rock!"-comments (allthough they are appreciated ;) :D), but rather to see if there are ways in which we can make VickyWiki even better and more helpful to the Victorian player.

:) Rafiki

It rocks :D

Seriously. In terms of newbie help Victoria is currently the best organized of all Paradox games (but it also needs it the most). I'm just picking Victoria up again after leaving it on the shelf for a couple of months and while playing I regular alt-tab out of the game to search for some information on the Vickywiki.

Something you can do is collect links of forum threads relating to different strategies for countries. Something Flame of Udun did for EU2 here There is never one perfect strategy for a country, reading through the thoughts of other peoples strategies always gives me good inspirations for strategies.

That's a good idea :) Then perhaps in due time, when people get the inspiration, the essence of the assorted threads can be pulled over into the Wiki?

I don't know if I'll be able to look into it anytime soon (my todo-list for the Wiki is already quite long, and it got tripled in size earlier today ;)), but perhaps someone else can?

Well, thanks for digging that up for me, Rafiki. You and Derkrenown should have a chat sometime...

And anyway, I see that Camp Victoria is actually no more--that's you're going to be focusing on the wiki now?

Rafiki, you Military Attitude Mod is quite bloody good! No longer will my army strengths and weaknesses be determined by a random event beyond our mortal control. Cheers! :)

We aim to please, you know ;)

Well, it's still there, but as things get transferred to the Wiki, it will dwindle away and eventually be closed/removed. No point in having it when the Wiki can do everything it does and more. And I haven't done any work on the Camp since we started putting the Wiki together ;)

Kurek: thanks! So you've tested it and it works? Good to hear; you'll probably like the Corporate Structure Mod, too then :)

But that has changed! :D

You can now find the entire manual collected into one long article at:

Come one! Come all!

Based on the experiences so far with HOI2Wiki and allowing anyone who wants to edit, edit, I've now reconfigured VickyWiki so that you no longer need an admin to set up an account for you; you can register yourself if you like.

So feel free to make any contributions you feel like doing. All I ask, is that you take a glance at the rules/guidelines before doing so. ;)

As always, I'm more than happy to answer any and all questions you might have about the wiki.
