ok, according to that Stellaris is not a scientific thesis precisely. But I think that taking a Cartoon Network scene as a reference is the least painful in a video game where we talk about theories like the construction of a Dyson Sphere.

Leaving that aside, that doesn't really show a plausible way that ocean worlds can be invaded.

An underwater Ecumenopolis? So you mean like...a planet who's surface is covered completely by city structures, and then on top of that completely covered by water? So like ... an ocean planet...?

Here's a question: can/should aquatics even be able to live on an Ecumenopolis?

Getting serious, I suppose that the current ocean worlds will go from being called "Archipelago Worlds" since they maintain a minimum of land.
Probably the oceanic worlds happen to work something like the Ecumenopolis themselves or even as the Swarm Worlds, Machine Worlds or Infested Worlds.
They may be about a new type of gaia world for marine species, we must wait until we know if the "Marine" feature is a trait, species or origin.

This is the screenshot I'm talking about. The Player's homeworld is the big oceanic one - which seems to be the new "ocean paradise" world that was mentioned on the Paradox page before the "Main Features" section for the DLC got scrubbed earlier today. The squid guys sending the message have an Alpine homeworld as you can see out there window.

Is that a civilian use of a colossus? A giant terraformer?
If so, I don't think it's a new feature for all Titans or all species. Not all types of planets can be created by such steep terraforming. Covering a world with water can also be a weapon of mass destruction while making the planet habitable for aggressors. This must be the ultimate weapon for marine species.

This DLC makes me dream of my Sauropod Species Pack.
And do not come to me with that if the reptiles are already there, that if we have differentiated from mammals-humanoids to now molluscs-aquatic, then it is perfectly possible!
I want my military dictatorship of T-Rex yujuuuu.

I admit that I would never have bet on the aquatics, but I think their ships may be my favorites in the entire game. The steam store have a really beautifull ones.

Yes, the Imperial ships were a great disappointment to me. Only his titan has some personality. These watercraft don't look bad at first.

Here's a question: can/should aquatics even be able to live on an Ecumenopolis?
There's a big difference between a planet covered in free flowing oceans with a healthy seafloor and a planet covered in metal and plastic and worked minerals which happen to have water around or inside them. An ecumenopolis with the air swapped for water is no more an ocean world than your bathtub is a pond.

I could probably recreate something like the alien antagonists from the obscure rail-shooter Deadly Tide (a game I enjoyed when I was a child) or the Liir from Sword of the Stars series. And if the Enigmatic Technologies mod ever gets updated I could make them Loop Adherents (means they have a bunch of extradimensional and Worm-That-Walks-themed tech) to make a knockoff of some Lovecraftian nasties. Stellaris and its many mods have been a major creative outlet for me with exercising my world-building muscles and getting my brain active with strategic thinking.

This looks really, really cool. Can't wait to design some new empires around these portraits. Sounds like we'll be getting some cool bonuses on top of the new portraits as well!

I think it's already been said that 3.2 will launch in November, so I'm guessing that's when this will release?

Nice work, team!
