Evil Spiritualist Fish Empire. Finally!

"You will bless The Cod!" :p
One of my go-to empires is the Church of Helix. Currently I use the starfish portrait for it, but I'd love to see if there is something more appropriate for Lord Helix and kin.

Speaking of which, the starfish portrait should be moved to aquatic for owners of this DLC, imo.

Hallelujah! Hosanna! Jubilations are decreed! Good things! Positive Emotions!

In short, I am very pleased about this announcement.

I very very very much hope that this will include a new 'Ice world' planet type similar to Enceladus or Europa, accessible only to aquatic species (and very technologicially advanced non-aquatic species), featuring underground oceans that can be colonized.

An expanded habitability system would make my day but probably beyond the scope of a species pack.

I suspect that similar to how plantoid traits are available to fungoids, Aquatic traits will be available to Molluscoids as well. Moving portraits between sections should be avoided imo.

I hope we’ll get actual aquatic graphics for this, and nit just have the aquatics tacked on existing rooms and city scapes. Snow-capped mountains?

I dunno what this screenshot is, but it’s not aquatic. Why would this be one of 5 screenshots on Steam?

A) it shows a new portrait not otherwise pictured
B) it shows you can play aquatics as just a portrait for an otherwise normal empire, if you want to.

I imagine they will add some new rooms which look underwater. And we do know there is a special origin related to turning everything ocean.

Tbh if I was in pdx, I wouldn’t put that screenshot as one of five. I’d put the new stuff.

With regards to the exclusive ocean environment... I hope they will have unique habitat, ringworld and ecumenopolis options, and not have them the same...or god forbid be precluded from it

Will they always have Ocean preference? Probably no.

Also, why must they keep putting animal heads on humanoid bodies :( with clothes! For aquatics! :D

Oh god this is like when they had a video or screenshot or something, and they put the giant frog head on a very slim humanoid body in robes. It’s as if whomever is designing aliens in pdx can only imagine heads!

That frog was really bad... like, make it alien and bloated and hovering around in a little mud-swamp platform... not a slim human in a long flowing robe! :D

Look at that dolphin, how “aquatic”. How evolved in an aquatic environment.

New species, ships and origins are always very well received.
I may risk drawing conclusions, but it is possible that this dlc brings some planetary battles. Currently I do not see how an army of a terrestrial species can attack an underwater population. Besides the orbital bombardment I don't think it's very effective either.
