I'm sure there are Christian hordes too. Nestorianism was very strong in the steppes.Awesome news, this expansion is long overdue.
I do have a question how this expansion will interact with the Old Gods though; I assume that most of the nomad features will come with Horselords but Tengri still require TOG to play. Doesn't that subject the Mongols to a double unlock of sorts?
Hot Mongols Are In Your Area And They Want To Talk To You

I think there was one major Khan who was Christian while there were the Khazars (Jewish) and quite a few Muslim rulers in the plains. But I'm also not sure if the nomad form of government will be tied to religion, it probably won't be and shouldn't be. But it's odd to advertise this as Genghis Khan the expansion pack without mentioning that you need another DLC to actually play him and his kin. Not an issue for those of us who have been around for a while but a bit of a trap for new players, perhaps.
Actually... much of Mongolia is already on the mapLake Baikal is on the upper right part of the current map. And Mongolia is just south of it.
Never trust a Dane.Horses aren't hedgehogs though. I can't believe Groogy would lie to us like this.
So no more sudden Mongol invasions? Sweet
It probably means filling out the vacant area of the eastern side of the map, ignoring Tibet.Expanded map- does that mean Mongolia and Xinjiang?
paradox already established a precident with EU4 that if a new expansion feature required a feature from an older DLC feature, that the new expansion would unlock the old feature, I believe it was done with el doradoAwesome news, this expansion is long overdue.

So, horse lords will probably unlock tengri for people that don't own ToG
