The thread title sort of gives away the surprise, doesn't it?
After a long and fruitful collaborative relationship with @Rylock while he was working on CK2Plus and afterward, I'm very proud to announce that he has joined forces with me on the EMF team.
Rylock is a productivity powerhouse of high quality content creation, and our respective specializations and styles have and will only continue to complement each other extremely well. I could sing the man's praises all day, but suffice it to say, EMF will never be the same with him on the team -- in the best way that you can imagine.
Now, for those of you already familiar with Rylock from CK2Plus, you may have a few questions, and I'd like to address some important points right off the bat:
Are EMF and CK2Plus merging?
No, Rylock has abdicated his role at CK2Plus, and while he is indeed, for now, bringing over quite a bit of his own content from that mod -- adapting, improving, and extending it for EMF/HIP as we go, he is also leaving behind a huge amount of his own and others' work from Plus. The two mods are and will remain separate.
Can I have feature XYZ from Plus in EMF now?
Maybe in some form, but we'd like folks to please refrain from thinking about things that way: EMF/HIP is not CK2Plus, and not all features from Plus fit into EMF or HIP, from a design standpoint.
However, if you would like to see certain Plus-like features added to EMF, feel free to continue requesting/suggesting it as always; simply understand that we already have our own agenda going forward and that such suggestions are much better framed in terms of the problem they solve or the aspect they add to the game than in terms of Rylock's past work from CK2Plus. Let the man try on his new suit, folks.

Soon, we will release a new HIP consisting almost entirely of EMF updates, the main focus of which is an all-new religious setup with plenty of new associated mechanics & flavor. Rylock has done a tremendous amount of work on this, and I'm absolutely sure that you guys are going to love it.
