So, I've seen a bit of HOI4 gameplay, which explained a lot, but I haven't got an answer for a question I've had for a long time: Will you be able to demand specific provinces? I always wanted to have the ability to shape the future border of my nation by annexing specific provinces based on either looks, or value (because I love my pretty borders :p )
If this is not a thing, I would suggest the devs to do something similar for border freaks like me ;)

yes from what i understand you will be able to. they talk in the recent videos about peace deals spiting nations or, I also believe that it was said they you could demand individual provinces but i cant think of were. however i cant imagine not being able to, it was said that when a large faction of nations takes down a single one each could take different provenience, how could such a system work without being able to demand individual provinces?

Both world wars didn't work like that, it was all or nothing unless (usually) Germany gave you a piece. See Bulgaria, Hungary and Italy. Germany just conquered whole nations. Although I'd like to see a feature like that.

So then just like Vicky? That's the one thing I disliked about the game. But I can understand that it's easier to mange on your end. Oh well...:(

Who would annex a single province, when you can annex an entire region!
It's a EU thing. Something about if you are too aggressive in EU many nations will gang up on you. I think some EU players will like HOI IV, but more would like EU: 20th Century.

True to some extent, but Germany did not start out "all or nothing". For example the demanding of the Sudetenland was the annexation of just a single region. As for Poland, the war could have been avoided (in the short term) had Poland accepted Ribbentrop's demand for solely the Free City of Danzig.

For me, it's because I want nice borders, and the regions of Vic2 would sometimes give me stupid looking borders when annexing stuff in places like the Americas or the Balkans.

Please make sure that the provinces are reasonably shaped. Currently they don't look like they can support an aesthetically pleasing border unless that border was historical to the time period. This is concerning as an imperial German or Austro-Hungarian border would be both desirable to create from an RP standpoint and also match up with the conventional state borders. That the states don't match up to either of these is disturbing.

And I hope that we'll be able to create new countries, for example when Soviet Union is defeated I would want to have something like puppet states there, maybe even fictional new countries that does not exist in reality. Or so that I could draw new borders by myself creating new puppet countries. And I think it would be logical if we could a ex puppet countries (or something like this) in any moment.

yeah i heard about this, still it kinda sucks you can't pull an alsace-lorraine and combine congruous, interstate provinces to form a new region. maybe in an eventual patch or DLC?

I don't think HoI4's timeframe is long enough in order to really accomplish anything with a new country formed after the SU is defeated.

One good news is the fact that rivers now run on the borders of provinces/states, so now we can choose to expand up to a river, and have a nice looking border with an added bonus to the defense of our newly conquered territory.

As long as it's a "complete" system, unlike the half-implemented Wargoals system in HOI3, it's got to be an improvement. In at least one case in HOI3, I could annex a country to get regions A, B, and C, or else place a Wargoal to get B, or place a Wargoal to get C, but there was no available Wargoal for A, which is what the country I was playing claimed historically. There were at least 5-6 similar situations I can point out, where the region you would be most likely to claim was not available as a Wargoal.

Agreed. It always bothered me that HoI3's wargoal system was so unfinished and VERY inflexible. This new system as long as they flesh it out look far superior. We've got a long time until release so hopefully they have plenty of time to completely finish every component.
