Hi, Im currently playing a game as the United States. The year is 1943, Im part of the allies, and I have completely destroyed the Japanese Navy and have proceeded to occupy all of the island they possesd including the home islands. I even have started taking over provences in Korea, but their army is still slightly larger than mine, the territory is hard, and my logistic distances make my troops almost combat ineffective.

I have all of the key provences that Japan had to start the game, so why can't I annex it? Is it because it has Saigon and others like that from France that I need to liberate? If so, why cant I just make a puppet state out of it, I must have 75% of the key territories.

Oh yeah and also is there a way to make the logistics penatly less?

Im pretty sure im playing 1.6 but I would have to check to be certain. Thanks for the help.

Japan has LOTS of victory points scattered around varius islands, but yes you do need the VPs they have taken from other countries as well.
I suggest you annex Japan, rather than puppet, as puppetting will leave them with alot of china and a large mess all around.

You could try merging your units & then create more units.
This way they will draw supplies from the closest territory you actually own.
Don't confuse this with territory you just control.
This may help you a little, but you probably will still be supplied from fairly far
away.

For amphibious assaults you have to set the supply base before loading the units. It may help to re-take Guam - this is probably the closest US territory to Japan.
For fighting on the mainland, it would help to be allied to China or USSR so that rebasing (via create units above) can use their provinces as well.

You can't puppet them anyway - unless their army is at least twice smaller than yours. It always took me about 4 months to conquer and annex Japan as the US - pursuing "Japan first" strategy in 1942. Usually I would do it even without nuking them - anyway, in 1.06c you can't even get nukes until 1941, and by early 1942 you only have 4 or 5. Having several paratrooper divisions helps with getting to VPs in China, since marching in big low infra provinces takes a lot of time.
