Annexing Île-de-France as England!

Sorry if this has been posted before, couldn't find it...

So i'm England and i'm kicking some serious french postérieur I now have about 60% warscore with almost half of France occupied, they have no armies left, no navies, nothing. I'm occuping the english cores and i want them all! The problem is that when i demand tribute, i don't even see Île-de-France as an annexable (is that a word?) province. All the other cores and occupied provinces are there. Is there a special rule because it's their capital? How can i take it?

You can't annex their capital unless you annex them entirely.

If they're too big, you can't annex them entirely with one war; you'll need multiple wars to break them down until you can annex them entirely.

Wrong. You can annex their capital if it's isolated. As England, you should get the mission "Occupy Paris", which gives cores on all of the provinces in Gallia (which is a huge region). Once you've done that, you should demand the regions around Paris from France, then take Paris in the next war. (Alternatively, if France is still heirless you could force them into a personal union and claim all of your cores when you inherit.)

Best is to get mission to vassalize france after you get mission to occupy paris, so that you can vassalize everything that is left of them after you take the cores.

France is obviously too big to be annexed in one war. I will have to take it slow then.

The problem with that is you need to keep some French vassals alive for that mission to fire, which might mean you can't take Paris (since it would still border their vassals)

I actually got the mission to take back Normandy as the first one when i started the game. At the time i didn't see it happening so i canceled it If i canceled a mission, does it ever come back or is it for ever?

No not realy, you need to be stronger than france to get mission to vassalize it. Then you can just make france give up all your cores they got, and vassalize them after truce.

Don't worry, the mission will come back. Of course, missions you don't like and don't complete will come back as well.

If you have cores on said land, after you occupy them the cost is halved. So you can easily grab a lot of provinces in the first war.

Yeah, but i'm not protestant

And i did annex all my cores except Île-de-France. I also forced them to release Brittany and Auvergne as independant nations and break most of their treaties. With my faithful ally Portugal, we pretty much destroyed France. When Fez, a one province contry, can declare war and win against France, it shows how devastated we left them Mwahahaha.... as soon as my truce expires, i'm going back.....

Well, Burgundy is getting too big for my taste... and they just declared war to my ally. After crippling Castille and then France, Burgundy will be next. Maybe i'll tackle the HRE then
