I'm wondering if there is any difference, with regards to the kind of gov't that the satellite winds up with. I.e., if you 'release' the satellite from your own lands, is it "even more" of a puppet?

I've been doing a lot of satelliting lately (yes, fairly addicting), and sometimes I'm not so pleased with the gov'ts that they end up having... within MY empire. I see things like 'liberal' parties in power. 'Parlamentarism'. 'Multi-party'. And also other national values which are not 'Order', as they rightly should be. Not to mention they are not even freakin' MONARCHIES!! This is an outrage. There should be a puppet king, who rules by decree, no voting, and only a conservative party... and he answers only to me, of course. And pays hefty tribute.

It doesn't make sense to have a bunch of satellites all around me, marching towards democracy. My own people might start to get ideas...

I think a satellite that you release has the same government as yourself whereas one you satellite as an effect of war keeps the current one.

If true, that is incredibly useful information. ...which I wish I'd had previously. This seems sloppy, though. I think there should be another level of 'sue for peace', after you select satellite & the opponent accepts... at that point you go into the details of the political situation, and determine all the specifics. Social reforms, political reforms. Heck, you could even force the Ottomans to become 'Orthodox', and RENAME them to... well, you know. Obviously you should be able to select a flag, as well.

But, I'm not Johan. I'm just some schmuck that can't program JACK. :D

In confirm the said information: released puppet do have the same government. Peace-forced ones do keep their current. That should be changed, but it's an exe issue.
