Andalusian culture can become Platinean?

I mean, an Arabic speaking culture become a Spanish speaking one?
(Though I understand that Andalusian belongs to the Iberian cultural group)

I think ideally there should be two different cultures: Andalusian to represent the Spanish-speaking Christians (the provinces already owned by Castille in 1444; alternatively maybe these provinces could be changed to Castillian), and Andalusi to represent the Arabic-speaking Muslims (Granadan provinces in 1444). Likewise, this new Andalusi culture should go into the Maghrebi group as it has way more similarities with Moroccan and Berber than with, say, Catalan.

That would be a good solution. Not to mention, that Spanish mission to culture convert Andalusian provinces would make actual sense. Now it's just a complete waste of monarch points.

I'd back this if it got an extended mission tree to reconquer provinces, with cheaper or free culture conversions as a reward for conquering certain provinces. Otherwise, re-reconquistaing Spain would naturally become a secondary objective to conquering the Maghreb, which feels off.

Also it would give a slight buff to a Granadan player trying to expand into North Africa before taking on Castile, since they would get reduced unaccepted culture penalties.

I get your point, but a) you still need Spanish provinces to form Andalusia, and b) Iberian provinces are way richer than the Maghreb, so it will still make more sense to expand further into Spain (also for fully controlling the Sevilla node). Also re-Islamicizing (?) Spain shouldn't be easy even after Castile is defeated for good.

It's not really about re-islamicizing - Humanist Muslims with loyal Dhimmi have next to no incentive to convert any heathens anyway - so much as it is about the Arabic alternative for Spain being... well, an alternative to Spain. As it stands now, there is a distinct shift if you choose to form Andalusia as Morocco, say. You're shifting your focus to Spain, and the culture flip reflects that. If you make a Maghrebi Andalusian culture, what you're essentially doing is making Andalusia the go-to formable for Maghrebi nations for ideas and a game goal, which I don't necessarily think is accurate.

This specific issue has a pretty easy solution, though. Unmoor Andalusian from the melting pot events creating Mexican and Platinean, and instead give them alternative melting pot cultures to form.
