And moreover, I am of the opinion that Carthage should be utterly destroyed.

At first was wondering where this came from, but then thought about it.....it took me a second to get it but then.....Carthaginians are Phoenician. Phoenicians (like Hebrews) are Semitic. Therefore anti-Carthage propaganda rhetoric is indeed anti-Semitism

One has to wonder how drastically different world history would have been if Carthage won the Punic Wars. Interesting concept to think about.

This thread will be fun once the Seleuco-Mauryan juggernaut invades Egypt and Greece, and then proceeds to wipe out both Carthage and Rome from the face of the earth.

There is a viscous tumor infecting the heart of Africa. Despite repeated attempts to cleanse it, Carthage as a Republic still burns in the heart of the Mediterranean. And it burns brightly and proud, taking control of all the trade of the general area and growing rich off the fat of it, despite all of the land they have lost from past campaigns and the threat of the tremendous Empire that surrounds them on all sides.

A tumor is only fatal if it is allowed to grow and fester. Like an infected wound, despite its lack of size it can very well prove to be a threat down the road if we allow them to continue to grow uninhibited. And therefore, from this forum, I will now declare total war against Carthage and end every single one of my posts, no matter the context, with the phrase: "Moreover, I am of the opinion that Carthage ought to be destroyed"

Join me my brothers. Carthage cannot be allowed to become a problem to us in the future. Only by banding together can we be rid of them. Should we stay our sword now, everything we know and love are at risk of being lost. Let us wipe them off the face of the planet and attain a more secure, beautiful, and Roman future.

That is all.
Well said! Truer words have never been spoken! For the Senate and the People of Rome, Carthage shall fall!

Been a while since I studied classics, was that Cato the Elder's speech everytime the senate was in session? 'Furthermore, DESTROY CARTHAGE'.

Aye. it is said that the 3rd Punic War was partly launched in his memory. He passed away the same year that the 3rd Punic War was declared. It is said that his spirit watched over the siege from the heavens giving strength to the soldiers below. His laughter from another world fueled the intensity of Carthaginian tears till they flowed like a river, making anything above subsistence farming impossible on the land due to the high concentration of salt in the Earth.

And furthermore, Carthage should be destroyed.
