So it's quite obvious that there are numerous, continuous crash reports lately. The reasons I've seen posted span from DLC units to standing retinues, and often seems to happen randomly. As of now most people are told to perform a clean install, as if Paradox isn't acknowledging that it is a known issue. In other cases we are simply told that they are working on a patch to fix it. Anyways, sorry if this came across as a rant. I'm just wondering when there will be an official thread posted, or if one is already made where I can find it? Trying to find an ETA of this coming patch and a compilation of known causes, so that I may attempt a fix for myself whilst waiting.

And because I feel this will be asked of me:

My issue occurs while playing Eire (Ireland), Pictland (Scotland), or England in Ironman starting in 769. I've played a Finnish game with the same starting era with no issues of late. The bug is a randomly occurring CTD with no error message other than "CK2 has stopped working". There is no specific year it happens, sometimes as early as 790 and the latest at 840. I once managed to change a graphics setting that VERY TEMPORARILY resolved it, only to have it reoccur about 20 years later. Unfortunately in my haste (This bug has me seething) I changed multiple settings at once, and therefore failed to pinpoint it.

These two statements contradict each other ... :)

If there was a published ETA for this patch, you wouldn't have to post in Tech Support to ask, it would be all over the main forum. The fact is the devs themselves do not know when it will be out, we just have to wait - the will not delay it a day longer than necessary, but they won't release it before it's tested and ready either. Release date depends on how testing goes.
