That issue is now fixed, you can either download Eryx again from the links I posted earlier, or fix it in your local copy by going to AncientReligions/common/retinue_subunits/ACR_retinue_subunits.txt and change the value "first_type" in RETTYPE_CUL_GAULISH to 4.

Eryx was the son of Aphrodite and Butes the Argonaut. He ruled the city that bore his name on the western tip of the island of Sicily. The modern city of Erice sits on the ancient site.

I have just a little problem, but I think this is a crossmod thing.

The Event: Studied the classics doesn't fire for me, but for alot of AI in the game. I also tried to lower the MTTH, but it didn't work.

But since I have also the Mod: Your Personal Castle activated, something is blocking it from this way.

But I have another question, can I get Roman Culture, when I am Greek Hellenistic with Roman Empire as prime title?

Which "Studied the Classics" event? The one that lets you become Hellenic, or the one that lets you pick a hero to emulate?
The former only happens to male courtiers that are Italian, Roman, or Greek. You would then have to land them and ask them to raise your child to convert.

The latter only has the following conditions:

So I should have got the event, since I was a Greek/Orthodox male emperor.

Since it didn't fire for me, I just edited the file, so it can not happen to AI, set the MTTH to 1 months and deleted all modifiers and requirement.
Then it did fire immediately, but the event chain didn't sadly progress.

Also the same problem with roman culture happens, many of my vassals go roman, but not me. But this is no problem, with the convert to culture of capital decision or just educating your heir by a roman.

This is the problem with multiple mod compatibility. I assume because you can use your study room with "My personal castle", some flag gets sat, which blocks the event chain for me.

You misunderstood, it can only happen to courtiers, landless characters. A Greek Emperor would never get the event.
I don't understand why you weren't converted to a Hellenic pagan. The first option for that event has you turn, the second has you reject it. The event clearly works for the AI, I've seen it happen. The Roman culture event should eventually reach the top liege (in this case, you), so I'm not sure what's happening there. Gonna have to chalk it up to the other mod here, since I've seen all this stuff work, and it's been in the mod for 3 years.

There are some things I can do to drastically increase ARR's compatibility in the future, but they will be breaking changes. I'm hoping to lump as many breaking changes together as I can, the proverbial band-aid ripping.

Hi Storm, question?

When I load up a Ruler-Designer game and then click options for picking a religion... if I scroll all the way down in those options, I see a choice of "female temple holder allowed" as if that where a Religious Group to chose from? But if you click on that there are no options.

It's extremely odd, and I I think it's mod related because that does not happen when I disable this mod.

I am using the most recent version of the mod and not adding any other mods, and before today's update it was version 2.4.1

Running Eryx on latest version (Checksum AJJW when not loading any mods) - the custom county shields from Charlemagne do not load (i.e. default Pagan round shields appear instead). No problems with the shields for the modded religions (love all three btw) - just the county shields.

I cannot replicate the problem. The decision works for me when I use the most recent version of the game and mod. Can you tell me what exactly about it isn't working?

Technically that is a feature, but it is one that will be going away next release, because it confuses people and most don't seem to like it.

It's not firing off the event and it's not taking any of my gold every time I click on it.

It's not firing off the event and it's not taking any of my gold every time I click on it.

I'll look into this some more.

I had this mod while it was on steam but i cant seem to find it now and have no clue how to manually install mods. Steam spoiled me lol.

The mod should be back up on Steam. I accidentally uploaded an older version, then when I uploaded Eryx I forgot to set the visibility back to Public. Steam automatically hides the mod when you push an update.

As a note, Eryx seems to break the nomadic Train Warriors advisor action, which increases manpower recovery rate.
