Ancient Hulk Anomaly

I never seem to find the Ancient Hulk Anomaly anymore. Is it gone in later game versions, or is it the ethos of my race preventing me finding it?

Chances of finding it have been greatly reduced also I think using the species portrait of either of the species involved in it make it impossible to find. Ive found it twice in the last couple weeks so I can confirm its still in the game.

Hmm, might be my ethos perhaps? I'm always xenophobe and materialist to some degree. I never get it anymore.

Ethos dont come into play for it Im always fan xenophobe these days. Your best bet for finding it is turn up galaxy size, turn down ai empires, and get alot of sci ships surveying. Or if your not playing ironman use the console to trigger it manualy.

OK, thanks. Just think it's kind of strange since I'm always going heavy on anomalies and dicovery. I'm also a Life Seeded player, so I feel I can afford going Discovery tree first. Perhaps Life Seeded players has a really reduced chance finding it.

Edit: Always activating Map the Stars too, at least twice in the early games.

When it first came out people complained it was op (which it probably was) because it was almost a guaranteed 25 gaia world every game. So they severely nerfed it, now from the game files it looks like its locked behind two levels of rng the first being a small chance to find it and the second being a large chance it rerolls to something else. But as I said I can confirm its still out there its just rare the settings I was using when I found it were 1000 star, .25 habitable, 12-15 ai, and had 8 or so sci ships surveying.

Thanks alot. It was no doubt too common before. Nice to know it's still out there somewhere. As a Life seeded fan it's of course my big dream to find it once again somethime in a multiplayer game (but they are often very crowded).

Yes I realize this is an old thread but I believe it pertains to the op's question and since nothing on the internet ever really dies, this game is going as good as ever and this information doesn't seem to be anywhere else I figure it's worth getting yelled at for Necromancy to reply.

Playing with a new Aquatic Portrait (to dissuade one of the comments) in a Clone Army Origin run, using Masterful Crafters & Technocracy with a Fanatical Materialist/Militarist Civilization and I just got this Anomaly.

Scientist has Meticulous because sometimes that matters.
