Exactly. That's why I thought Cypriot independence is the most realistic- it could be that Greek pressure on the Brits forced them into a compromise to make Cyprus an independent state- and Greece and Turkey can both try to gain more influence in an event or two. After a time, the Cypriots will become either a Greek or a Turkish puppet. Almost like the Lebanon situation in the Middle East in this mod, with it either being virtually a puppet of either Israel or Syria.

I think we should start making some province photos now- we need them for Yekatarinoslav/Dniepropetrovsk, Rostov, Sevastopol, Samsun, Ankara, Istanbul/Constantinople, Athens, Salonica, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Damascus, Beirut, and Baghdad

Wow... thanks very much :)
Now our priorities can be:

  1. more events
  2. add in Hatay and MRNC
  3. finish off all skins
  4. more techteams and ministers for every nation
  5. Cyprus independence
  6. Default unit names for each nation
  7. more unit pics
  8. music

MRNC is very difficult to find things for... but I am gradually getting there :D

EDIT:
After having played several times the current version of the mod, I think we could do something to make Southern Arabia much more interesting. If played correctly, the Hashemite Union- Oman- Syria- Arabia alliance can become very powerful indeed. There are many states which could form a kind of anti-Saudi alliance in the South supported by Israel perhaps.
For example, we could add nations such as Mahra, 'Asir, Yemen, Hejaz, and Qa'iti- information can be found here:

What about adding the Hedjaz territory to the Hashmenite Union, would strengthen them and create a big conflict between the Hashmenites and the Saudis.

In my opinion it's better put there Arabian civil war. Current borders are good, but if Arabian dissent goes over 20 or 30, there would launch series of events named Arabian civil war. First Yemen would declare independence. Then, if annexed, Oman would do same. If Oman is allied with Arabia, it would switch sides and declare war against Arabia. And then Hejaz could declare independence. It's capital would be located in Mecca (Jiddah) and would have same claims than Arabia. We can use civil war command to make it.

There's flags and shields for Hejaz.

EDIT: About unit pics, I'm ever time trying to find, but it's damned hard. I've used some unhistorical unit pics for some nations, for example Georgia uses pictures of Soviet tanks etc.

And about events: could you give ideas, because I have used all my ideas :D

Hejazi ministers are difficult to find though... and because it's ruled by the Hashemite family it would make a Saudi-Hashemite Union alliance against Hejaz be quite... strange, I suppose. There are other nations we could use like Jebel Shammar or 'Asir- they're in the 1914 mod I think so maybe we could ask nicely if we could use some of their ministers?
I think in this mod we know that our limits are Crimea, Persia, Arabia, and Suez. If we start modding areas further out than that, then it will just be a totally different kind of mod than the name 'Anatolian Wars' suggests. We have a right to change Arabia because as a former part of the Ottoman Empire it would have been affected greatly by any changes taking place in Arabia.

Sadly, I am still working on the MRNC but I have finished Hatay- it will start off as just Gaziantep but will probably by 1940 be a part of Syria or Turkey, or at least a puppet state of either. It could make the situation there a whole lot more interesting- also, since it's in Anatolia and I have all the teachteams, leaders, ministers ready, why not add it? I'll send you all the files so check your PM.

Here are some more ideas for events together with event pics- I wrote a big list of rough event ideas- the more events we add to this mod the better it will be!

Greece claims Northern Epirus (i.e Vlorë)
Event pic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Stamp_Epirus_1914_1d_infantry.jpg
Description: Greece decides not just to start its expansions east, but also North, and so claims Northern Epirus from Albania. There is the option to claim just Epirus or to go for an all out DoW on Albania. It will help speed up war between Italy and Greece if nothing has happened by about 1942.

Assyrian Change of Leadership
By around 1941 the Assyrians should begin to have a problem with their leadership. Assyrians are divided into the Nestorian, Chaldean, and Jacobite churches, so we should do three choices to either go with:
Aphrem I Barsoum- Jacobite. Relations with Turkey fall, with Armenia rise.
Eshai Shimun (default leader anyway)- Nestorian. Relations with Armenia fall.
Mar Youssef VI Thomas - Chaldean. Relations with Hashemite Union fall, claims on Baghdad.
Event Pic: http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=65873&rendTypeId=4

Assyria claims Urmiah
Assyria claims Urmiah- this should happen early- after giving Assyria a chance to fight Kurdistan. Maybe around 1938 or 1939? Urmiah (shown as Tabriz) has a large Assyrian population and Assyria should add it as a national province.
Event pic: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/21512/21512-h/images/009.jpg

Georgia claims Tao-Klarjeti & Lazica
A little event to stir up some war between Greece and Georgia. Georgia decides to expand according to the DRA's 1920s borders before the Ottomans forced it to give them all the Muslim territories back. Now, Georgia decides to claim Trebizond (historically known as Tao-Klarjeti to Georgians) in order to free the Laz and Georgian people living in Pontus from Pontine rule.
Options can be either to claim or not to claim- claiming of course results in a large drop in relations with Pontus.
Event pic: http://www.amsi.ge/istoria/ruq/img/mesxeTi.png

Kurdistan for all Kurds
If Kurdistan survives beyond around 1941 it must be fairly strong. Therefore, it can claim extra territories such as Erzurum and Kars.
The idea behind this doctrine should be that Kurdistan is for all Kurds, whether they be Muslim or Yezidi, and for all Kurdish peoples, whether they be Zaza, Dimli, Kurdish or any other Kurdish-related ethnic groups. As such, Kurdistan claims Kars and Erzurum therefore decreasing relations with Armenia.
Event pic: http://www.gurdjieff-legacy.org/90art/yezidi_cawals.jpg

Armenian Diaspora
Simple event- thousands of immigrants from all over the world pour into Armenia to help the motherland- rise in Armenian manpower
Event pic: http://www.agiasofia.com/armenia/arm_refug.jpg

Fundamentalist Azerbajian
The Azeris have become disenchanted with their Left Wing Radical and Social Liberal governments. Therefore, the Imams and Mollahs have been led to Baku in a rebellion to start Sharia law and found an Islamic republic.
Relations with Armenia dramatically fall, relations with Arabia dramatically rise
New Azeri fundamentalist leader as HoS and HoGvt:

Aliyah
Israel gets huge new amounts of manpower as immigrants pour in from Poland, Hungary, Germany, Romania, and Czechoslovakia
Event Pic:

Mecca has fallen!
The Israelis take Mecca in any Arab-Israeli war. Surge in Arabian manpower as more recruits volunteer to retake the city

...plenty more events to come! ;)

Cossacks for the Tsar!
For many years, the Don Cossacks were loyal soldiers and bodyguards to the Tsar- now, they stand by as Germany attacks those who murdered their former leader in Yekatarinburg after the Russian Civil War.
Three choices:
- War on the USSR (allied with Germany)
- War on the USSR (alone)
- Maintain peace at all costs- our survival is at stake
Event Pic: http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/2635...C13524355E9289CE6E9F808164AF9A55A1E4F32AD3138

Irrigate the steppes!
As Kalmykia has become wealthier, it has started to irrigate the barren steppes near Astrakhan to feed its people
Causes a rise in off-map daily supplies production or just supplies stockpile
Event Pic: http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/NEWS/thisweek/images/irrigation.jpg
^ I know the picture isn't Kalmyk but at least it's irrigation I suppose

Death of Ghazi ibn Faisal
4th April 1939- King Ghazi of the Hashemite Union dies. A controversial King, he supported Bakr al Sidqi in his military coup in 1933. During his reign he even put forth a claim for Kuwait to be annexed by the Union and was rumoured to harbour sympathy for Nazi Germany. His mysterious death, in a car crash, was possibly the work of Nuri as Said. What are we few loyals left to do?
- Install Faysal II ibn Ghazi of Iraq as leader
- Install Abdullah I of Jordan as leader (capital moves to Amman)
Event Pic: http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/3132...FE2929D4DA765B9BE71D78866E273A55A1E4F32AD3138

Armenia needs stronger leadership
The weak social democratic and social conservative movements of Armenia have resulted in nothing save for humiliation, rampant inflation, and making us a lawless state run by gangsters. We need a strong leader from the military who will run the nation with an iron hand! Drastamat Kanayan is our ideal leader, a patriot from the ranks of the Dashnakstutiun!
- Install Drastamat Kanayan as Head of State and Head of Government (Paternal Autocrat, Fascist)
- Crush the uprising (higher dissent, less belligerence)
Event Pic: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/12/Dro.JPG/180px-Dro.JPG

If you need anymore, just ask me :D

Did you get the Hatay pictures alright?

Here is the Arabia flag and shield our mod should be using:

Good good. I think it will delay war between Turkey and Assyria and could even make Turkey and the Syrian-Arab alliance go to war as well.... wow!
I spent ages finding all those ministers too ;)

Here's one more _very_ important event I think we need to have:

Prince Eugene II abdicates
(1943)
The leader of the Comemnene throne of Pontus, Prince Eugene II, abdicates in 1943, after many fruitful years of ruling the Kingdom of Pontus. He leaves behind him two rival heirs to the Pontic throne:
- HRH Prince Theodoros IX Lascaris
- HRH Princess Iosephine Lascari-Comemnos
Event Pic:
http://www.new-byzantium.org/group.jpg

N.B- actually, Eugene II died in 1952 but I thought as we need an oppurtunity to add more ministers and more interesting events to Pontus, this is probably a good thing to add

Pontos for Pontines?
Pontus may be historically a Hellenic nation, but the leaders of the Kingdom seem to have forgotten that there are also Turks, Georgians, Lazuri, Hemsinlis, Armenians, Circassians, and many other ethnic groups living along its shores and high in its mountains. They are petitioning for more representation in the government and the right to autonomy. We need to also remember that Georgia and Armenia will be looking at this sequence of events with great interest. What will be our answer?
- Ignore them. Pontus has always been Hellenic and always will be.
- Grant them their requests. Pontus is for all Pontines, not just Greeks.
Event Pic: http://pontian.info/other_pics/armenians.JPG

Old friends again
In 1916, the Russian Army marched through Trebizond and was greeted with enthusiasm by Germanos Karavagellis and other leaders of the then de-facto state of Pontus. It seems in recent years we have forgotten this helpful deed to us by the Russians- we are no longer ruled by the Turks- so we owe our freedom to them.
However, Imperial Russia- our former benefactor- no longer exists.
So to whom should we send our thanks?
- The Soviet Union- they may be Bolsheviks but they are the new Russia
- The Kuban and Don Cossacks- they are the last remnants of Imperial Russia
Event Pic: http://www.agiasofia.com/pontos/chrysanthos_trapezous_russians_1916.jpg

Our Crimean Brothers
Since the 18th century, Greek merchants have been living in Sevastopol and the Crimean Peninsula, making a life for themselves. Known as 'Urums' to their Tatar neighbours, they became very wealthy but it is worrying how the Crimean Tatar government will act towards them if war with Greece and Pontus breaks out. Many of these 'Urums' originally emigrated from Pontus- we have a duty to help them.
- Offer to send money and supplies to them (increases Crimea Tatar dissent)
- Offer to transport and rehabilitate them back in Pontus (increases Pontus manpower)
- Ensure that we never need to anger the Crimean Tatars (offer non-agression pact)
Event Pic: http://www.psychwww.com/psyrelig/ukraine/cherso1.jpg

... am thinking of more Pontine events

I've now added almost all events. However, that event where Ghazi ibn Faysal dies, event picture link you sent isn't working. I also fixed the region map mode.

It's not very important, but because air force operations use those regions, I made them to accord political map in january 1 of 1936.

When does the next version of the mod will be released? I just played it on Armageddon and it was just great. I hope I can do an Armenian or Pontic AAR with it soon; if I do that, I hope the AAR will help you in your development.

I also thinked to some later Doomsday or Armageddon event: as in this timeline, Beria stayed in Georgia (maybe, if not as HoS, as Head of Intelligence), he never took his place as head of NKVD, and Yezhov managed to keep his influence with Stalin. At his death in 1953, Yezhov succeeds Uncle Joe and manages to stop the tentative of coup from Khrushshev. Later, Yezhov decides to declare a great war on the Caucasus, in order to reintegrate the reluctant states who splitted away from the Russian Empire in 1917...The Americans decide to intervene, and there is WWIII because of Anatolian Wars!

What an idea on Yezhov! It's great. I'll do it! :D :D :D
On Georgia, there's chances that Beria becomes leader of Georgia. It's first 33/100, then there's another event where chance that he becomes leader is 15/100... Next version will be released quite soon, I think in next month. Immediately when we finish Mountainous Republic of North Caucasus cabinet, tech teams and leaders. Arabian civil war can be in 1.03, because if people found bugs from new events, it's great thing. So, in my opinion, we could release 1.02 in two weeks, if we can found ministers for MRNC.

The Americans decide to intervene, and there is WWIII because of Anatolian Wars!
 What an idea! Now that would be interesting... I was always a little reluctant to get the major powers involved in the Anatolian Wars drama, but after around 1943 some of the larger ones such as Armenia, Assyria, Turkey would have large enough armies to put up credible resistance. All in all an excellent idea!
Thankyou, O Masked Pickle!

The MRNC is coming along nicely- it's just very difficult to get enough techteams. Considering how many techteams we've got for Tatar Crimea, Pontus etc I really do think we should add some more to Assyria and Armenia too.
Thanks for the regions map too, Miihkali. My current game as Armenia (allied with Assyria and controlling from Ankara to Baku ;)) is great but airforces are very difficult because the regions aren't sorted out. I'm sure your map will do the job though.

Do you need more events or do you think we have enough already?

So bad that the picture displayed on the MRNC article of Wikipedia doesn't have a full legend.
If you mean the MRNC cabinet photo on wikipedia- I cracked that old chestnut a while ago- I found a caption for it with all the ministers listed... in Ingushetian... I was able to transliterate and get the names for each one though, so the cabinet is nearly complete!
Techteams and leaders are on their way. I think the MRNC should prove to be an incredibly interesting little nation- not least because its very surivival depends on its various racial elements co-operating. Anyway, the cabinet I now have gives a Fascist, Fundamentalist Muslim, Social Democratic, Social Conservative, Paternal Autocrat, and Leninist choice for the nation. I have put in a naval minister as well- just in case the MRNC reaches the Black or Caspian sea ;)
I hope I can do an Armenian or Pontic AAR with it soon; if I do that, I hope the AAR will help you in your development.
I hope you will do one! At least it will publicise our mod- Pontus is surprisingly good to play as, don't you think? Sadly, I think I've milked Pontus for all it's worth. There's absolutely no way I will ever be able to find more Pontine ministers than I have done.
Armenia is always good to play as in this mod- my most recent game as the Armenians is currently including an empire stretching from Afyonkarahisar to Baku :D

Here are some interesting events we can do for MRNC:

Circassians of the Kuban
The MRNC is the only nation in which the brave Circassian people- a famed warrior race reknowned for their skills as horsemen- can live and worship in peace and use their own language officially. Many Circassians also reside as they have done for centuries within the fertile territories of the Kuban- it must be considered our duty, as the homeland of the Circassians, to help them against the opression of the Cossacks who treat them as the Tsars did centuries before.
- War on the Kuban Cossack Republic
- Peace- for now

The MRNC- Ossetians, Chechens, or Circassians?
The MRNC by its definition is not a homogenous nation-state. Its survival is dependent on the willingness of all its constituent ethnicities (Kabardins, Balkars, Chechens, Ingush, Ossetians, Circassians, Adygeans, etc) to co-operate. However, the ongoing ethnic tensions have now become so bad that they cannot be ignored. We will need to favour one of the three major nations of the republic if we are to weald any control at all anymore.
- Ossetians
- Circassians
- Chechens and Ingush

The North Caucasian Imamate
In April 1918, the radical mullahs Najmuddin Gotsinsky and Shaykh Uzun-Hadji founded the short-lived North Caucasian Imamate- later to be crushed by the White Armies of Denikin and other nationalist groups in the area opposed to the movement.
Gotsinsky was declared the fourth Imam of all the Northern Caucasus in may that same year, and has never renounced the title. Now radicalised preachers and mullahs have risen up in support of the two Imams.
- Install the Imamate- secular rule has made us weak
- Crush the opposition

The old alliance
Like many of the Caucasian independence movements, the MRNC sought recognition from Ottoman Turkey in its infancy but as the Turks became embroiled in wars of their own against the Greeks in 1923, forgot about their Caucasian brother Muslims.
Now, the Turks maintain an uneasy peace and need all the help they can get from their neighbours- maybe we should rekindle this old alliance?
- Of course- Ottoman or Republican, the Turks are our friends!
- Our future does not lie with Turkey

Pictures for these will be coming up soon!

I was also thinking to something for Pontus and Spain...The current Pontic ruler, Eugenios II, was born Eugenio Lascarz in Zaragoza, son of a laborer, and that his claim on the Lascaris Komnenos family, who ruled Empire of Niceia, was very fantaisist...Why not a manifesto from the king of Pontus praising Franco for his coup, sending some symbolic ressources and calling for a Hellene ingerance into the war? Greece could follow him as well, or decide that this puppet king is going too bad...

I've now made all events you supposed. Next I'm going to make events for Hatay. My idea for Hatay time line is that first in september 1936 there's change for nation becoming Kemalist... and if they select yes, it leads that they finally become puppet or annexed by Turkey, and if they select no it leads that syria annexes or puppets them and Turkey attacks against them.
