Having been watching Quill18's recent Let's Play, the Chirper is annoying with a lot of useless messages that get repeated multiple times.
Take this one that I have seen no less than 4 or 5 times by different people:
"Way to go @mayor ! IMHO yellow cornfields are much better sight than dirty factories. #cows #farming #moremoney"
Then there is the one about seeing more birds because of Green Power because you put down a wind turbine.
Can anyone tell me why these messages are important for me as a mayor? I haven't specifically kept track of which messages have popped up, but more often than not, it is some useless trivial comment that I would rather not be distracted by while planning or working on the city. Perhaps what annoys me even more is the use of #'s and @'s that are not necessary. Given that I don't use twitter and bad grammar annoys me, I really don't know what purpose these characters serve.
While writing this and watching Quill's video, this one popped up: "@police offers small #storage spaces with secure doors for #rent. Call 911 for more information"
Also "Wow! Our town is quickly becoming a real city. #goodtimes".
As mayor, what use or value does this offer me? Why do I need to know this? Do I need to do something when this pops up? Seems like it should be filed under "Crap I don't care about". At least the sound and animation can be turned off.
