As it happens, the developers and betas are aware of many historical inaccuracies (or generalizations) that we have been working very hard to correct and improve upon in the past few weeks. They will be included in the DEM1.01 when it is released.
Leading up to the gold release we were mostly focussed on squishing bugs and identifying and correcting game play issues since we felt that the "minor stuff" could be addressed in the several-week period between the "gold" announcement and the game actually hitting the shelves. It was felt that a 1.00 with historical errors but a stable platform and good playability was preferable to a bugged but accurate release. In fact, this is one of the most stable 1.00 versions of any game that I've seen in a long time.
Since DEM 1.01 was planned to more or less coincide with the game hitting the shelves on April 23rd, that work isn't completed yet. Undoubtedly we'll speed it along as rapidly as possible, but there's no sence rushing it and getting it wrong or introducing new bugs at this point. Rest assured that we
are not sitting idle.
Also, since the admins and mods weren't expecting the public release for another couple of weeks, there are things that were initially scheduled for April 23rd that aren't ready quite yet (sub forums for bugs, tech support, FAQs, etc.) but will appear once they are ready. Until then, please exercise as much patience with us as possible...
On the subject of getting the games out to everyone else:
As we can see from Johan and Fredrik's posts, Paradox had no idea that CK would be available in any store prior to the target release date of April 23rd. That a few copies have shown up in Denmark is a rather serious error on behalf of a publisher, not Paradox, and I would ask people to remember that this date (April 23rd) was one that was arranged with - and agreed to by – all distribution.
I believe that originally everything was planned such that pre-order copies would be shipped on or around April 19-20 (and an official notice would have been posted to that effect) so most of you would have received your copies more or less as it hit the store shelves.
Paradox is acutely aware that their long-term fans are crucial to the success of this game and of future products and would
never have made arrangements or knowingly agreed to something that would compromise this position. As soon as they have what they need to actually send the games (boxes, manuals, etc.) I have no doubt that they will speed the process of shipping them out to you along in any way possible. (I have rather funny visions on Johan et al ambling around the shipping department with tape guns in their hands and a bemused expression on their faces

).
Considering that some (most) of what I've just said probably violtates NDA, I trust you'll bear with me for not going into even more detail and I hope I'll still be around to answer further questions in the future.
