An Underage Pope..?

As you can see, the History tab says he was elected at the age of ten. His Father is the Baron of Tusculum, so he didn't inherit the Papacy from the previous Pope.

How did that happen?

I've seen it pretty close. I used to give unwanted sons bishoprics that I had conquered and a few times they got cardinal pretty quickly. A few eventually became pope but in their 30s not when they turn 16.

I mean... Pope Benedict IX might have become pope at 12. And apparently abdicated to try and marry his cousin, who rejected him?
