Well, though I'd like the job, I must defer to Rafiki and Darkrenown. Not only do they have seniority, but IMO they understand the game a bit better than I do, at least for the pruposes of being a bug forum moderator.

I suspect it's neither of the above. I don't think the Illuminati (= DK et al) would allow it ;)

So DK and all don't make decision in a smoke filled room? I remember seeing picture of Johann, Harvard, etc. on a pub or tavern. I thought decisions were made then. That's why crate of beer seem to help your chances :D

If anything, it's the latter - with Johan, BiB and me being the Elders... ;)

That would be a thing to discuss with Friendware (I think?) really. Paradox has no way to force a publisher to put out a patch... :(
no complains about the anti-copy system, but the availability of the new features and improvements. I don't mean patching to get rid of the protection.

Havard --
Well and good, but I think the thrust of this discussion has been to insure that Victoria doesn't become orphaned completely in the Paradox universe. Without conducting a popularity contest for a new mod, I think all of us would be happy to have Dark Knight take up his cudgels again, or get Derek P or Johnny Canuck back and active, or have a new mod appointed. In other words, it would be nice to have a participant in these Vicky forums who may also have the ear of the development team.
Of course, if you continue to have your say here from time to time, well, that's not so bad either!

We are just concerned about Vicky's future as people are still enjoying this game and we're finally getting more and more MP games starting. Vicky is a complex game but there are things you can do to help alleviate that. In the future, I highly recommend Paradox to include a good tutorial with the game as well as options to simplify the game if posssible so people who enjoy complex game as well as people who enjoy less management can both benefit at the same time.

If possible, I would like to know the possibility of opening up some module or perhaps give us API, enable us to improve some aspect of the game ourselves if Johann and others are too busy to code Vicky :)

Allow nation to nation specific trade was one topic some people were interested to see in Vicky. This is not possible from user mods but if we are given API to write module to enable that to happen, I will be happy to do it whenever I have time.

Well, I am slowly changing my mind in favor of Vicy. I purchased it after it come out in US but give up playing after 2 weeks (it looked to hard and had too many bugs). Now after years of playing EU2 (which I think is the best Paradox game till now) I am becoming bord. That is why I made myself play Vicy again in a hope that I will like it.

At the start it is hard to like it. It is complex and dificult game with a lot of micro managment, but after 2 weeks I am slowly begining to understand the tricks. This is all do to VikyWiki and this forum (I would give up agian if not for that). Slowly the complexity of the game begins to look like a good thing...

I think that you should tell all new players to start playing as a US. I think that it is the best noob nation to play. At least this is the only one I can do something with :)

One reason I love Vicky is its length. For a Paradox game it’s relatively quick. I maintain the—at times forlorn—hope of being able to enjoy MP games and recapture some of the fun I had in my RTS-playing days.

I can’t see myself ever attempting a MP game with CK.

USA may not be the best newbie nation to play, look at my submission to be accepted to worst vicky player club (and I was accepted ;)

November: I have heard others talking, more than one person has told me, after their MP vicky experience, SP is just too boring for them now :) They include some who's who on this forum ;)

The problem with Vicky is AI can be too predictable and easy. Once you know how to run a nation's economy well, it's not exactly hard to do quite well in this game :( MP is a different beast, you are no longer deal with AI, but competent players (hopefully). Navy cannot be ignored anymore as players can and will amphibious assault your nation.

You just need to pick right players to play. MP can be like SP in one respect. In SP, when your nation has no hope left, do you fight on or quit? Same can happen with MP if players are not willing to pile on a dominating power (usually UK or Russia) then players may start to drop when they think there is no hope left :)
