So, having played around at the ahistorical playground quite a bit (as Italy) I had the idea of starting a new game with all continents decolonised, and all countries dissolved into their (ethnic?) components.
As a result, no more yugoslavia, united kingdom, or USSR, while at the same time, France was divided into France(northern regions) /Occitania (southern regions) / Bretagne, while Spain was divided into Spain (most of the country) / Basque country / Aragon / Castille (at the NW tip).
My aim: to establish the Roman empire as quietly as possible. I.e. No rnd wars, no axis, probably a solo run the whole way...
Thinking this would be an easy run provided that I would save on pps for all those extra justifications, I started by justifying on Occitania, while annexing Albania from the focus tree. Then, while trying to keep the tension below 25% for as lonf as possible, I went on by justifying on Macedonia. And that is as far as i can get before having Canada (most of the time) guaranteeing my potential targets.
I tried:
1. exploiting the "justify on some far away country just to raise the cost of the guarantee" tactic. It works, albeit at a really slow pace...
2. Going the Occitania then Austria route (and save it from annexation), which did not work because Austria rises tension even more than Macedonia...
I am now pondering whether I should go the Libya-Austria way (and maybe Egypt if tension allows), or the more classic Austria-Switzerland route.
But what do you guys think? Any suggestions are welcomed...
