As you can see, Torch was not going as planned, but it was still going. Just driving instead of taking the boat.

My cruisers are getting a good workout. I would not even use this fleet in the Pacific, but in the Atlantic? No worries.

MI stands for mobile infantry. As you can see, they are brigaded, but nothing to slow them down. I also use "leg infantry"(no brigades) and "heavy infantry"(brigaded with art, at, and aa).

"Torch" has begun.

With the battle of the Atlantic basically won, I am shifting my air power to new uses.

Hmm good job in North Africa so far, but those mountains are a problem.

Trying to over run the air bases. Those gnats are getting on my nerves.

Looks like Italy's last BB ran into my ASW fleets.

Making a big pocket for Vichy troops in Africa.

Italian Navs show up. Gotta send them home.

Finally, some real German divisions. They have not invested heavily in Africa though. They must be waiting in fortress Europa.

Come on! The enemy of my enemy and all that.

That is good. That should cut off Germany's oil supply.

I wish the AI could coordinate it's efforts better. This could get real tough if they did.

The mountains were not that bad. I have superior units, and more of them. I don't know what Germany is doing with all of their units.

Yeah, I would like more of a fight. Hopefully when I hit France.

I think the main problem is that the ai uses a lot of infantry, while all my units are all highly mobile. I tend to over run them and need to make very few pockets or encirclements.

Here is an example of what I am thinking is the problem. I have completely out run that HQ, which should be their fastest unit. I had to switch to the reorg minister, because I was out running my org :rofl: I am under constant offensive supply. I almost wonder if the problem is the ai strat redeploying to where I have already been? Their troops probably are all sitting in Berlin or something. In the next session, I may load as the Germans and see what is going on. If necessary, I may stand in place to give the ai time to set up some defensive lines.

Unfortunately for the ai, I have already played well past this point. Republican Spain, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia are all puppets.

This is as far as I have played so far. I am seriously thinking about loading as Germany and seeing what is going on. Thoughts?

So I loaded up as Germany. They have about 50 divisions redeploying and a stack in Berlin. I will stand pat until winter ends to give the Axis time to adjust. From now until then, I will concentrate on the Pacific war. However I will leave Atlantic theater units in the Atlantic, and Pacific theater units in the Pacific as if I were still fighting both fronts. Though at this point the Pacific war is a "whack a mole" hunt for the IJN.

I ran a quick play test, I evacuated from France and gave the Axis time. They are now quite feisty and ready to fight. Japan on the other hand is now on the ropes. My subs must have done serious number on their convoys, because many divisions on their islands are starving. I also believe I have sank their last CV. However the Home island is buzzing with Naval Bombers. I lost 3 carriers just scouting.

Even if I took over as the Germans now, it would be pure hell. The 1944 scenario would have nothing on this. I think my USA is the most advanced nation in the world, I have devastated the IJN, the KM, and the RM so my shores are safe. The Japs are out of convoys, hey if I open the console and type in convoys jap will they get 5000 convoy transports? I can always edit some into the save if that won't work.
I have 3 nukes, no one else has any.
I do not have air superiority in Europe yet, it is still being contested. However, I am building 12 more imp turbojet fighters.....
