Instead of having Provinces handle industrial production how about having cities WITHIN the provinces handle individual production for example any city with a population over 100000 can do specific jobs.

For example, cities in the Ruhr would be better at industrial production than Berlin but cities with larger populations can be better at drafting and training forces.

Also you can assign multiple tasks to a province that has many cities or you could have the entire province conentrate on one goal thus ending it quicker.

To make this managaeble to the AI you could give it the option of choosing specific jobs like producing a complete division which would be 5 tanks 10 infantry 3 artillery or whatever combined arms combination you want.

Am I on to something?

I could be wrong, but i fear the game code is pretty much set in stone, at least the backbone of how it operates anyhow.

Your idea reminds me of superpower, i totally agree with it.
I also think adding an option where you can set the city to a particular build proficiency...ie Aircraft, Drafting, Resources, Industrial Output (all round for building new units) etc etc

Maybe, but after reading a recent FAQ it seems that the programmers have strangely adopted ideas that I suggested in other posts  .
While it is quite possible that the programmers had these ideas before I ever posted on these boards I will act on the presumption that they got their ideas regarding battle ENTIRELY from me so please feel free to indulge me in my narcicism and megolomania :D :D :D
