An Idea To Show Thanks

Now, it's been a while since I've seen any group of fans do this, but I figure that PI's fans are rabid enough to pull it off.

In my much younger days I frequented the StarSiege:Tribes forums, and many of the fans of the game decided to pool money together to buy the dev team for Dynamix a nice present of various alcoholic brews. At the time I was too young to have a credit card or send any money via pay pal, but would have if I could have.

This brings me to my idea.

But first, a question for PI. Do you guys drink beer, and if so what brands do you prefer?

Now, for the rest of us, how many would be willing to donate if PI wishes for us to give them such a present?

It wouldn't have to be much if we get enough people, and I figure we could have someone who is trustworthy on this site such as a moderator or a member of PI (obviously the person would have to reside in Sweden, or be reasonably close) manage the PayPal account and make the required purchases for us, then we could truly show our appreciation!

What do you guys think? What does PI think? Who's comin' with me?!

While I have never been rabid fanboy enough to pay EXTRA money to Devs of ANY game for something I`m paying for anyway, (and if I were to do such a thing, it would go to a meaningful charity). HOWEVER, the Dev`s response above has increased my respect for them.

I`ll say thankyou for HOI3 when I have the game and played it a bit, but thanks for EU3 which has been enjoyable.

Sounds like this thread was inspired by virtual beer. I'd like to virtually thank all the Paradox developers (and other people) that made their games over the years, because they are some of the funnest and most immersive games I played. (ps Crusader Kings was especially funny, albeit it crashed a lot... make a sequel or incorporate it's family features into some new game.)

And any good American knows that Wisconsin is home to the best drinkers in the world.

Thank you both! And thanks to the other folks at Paradox who are making Hearts of Iron III a reality. I am really looking forward to playing it (after I purchase it, of course).

And if I am ever in Sweden or if either or both of you are in my neck of the woods, I would gladly buy you the drink of your choice.

Thats scary! PEOPLE, we do not want them to drink while writing code or scripting!
