I just got the game, so it's just about time for my first round of stupid questions:rolleyes:

Here's the first:

I'm playing France in 1936, I started with 125 IC and now I'm down to 98 for some reason. Is it because I'm improving industry in most of my provs? I have 3000+ of each resource...

That's it for now, but I'm sure there'll be more ;)

You gotta think long and hard about improving IC's too. I think I remember only getting +1 IC for the improvements. So is it really worth it to improve IC's in a province with, say, 15IC's? You're losing about 7 for a year, while gaining only 1 after that.

Yeah, I wish I had know about that IC thing before hand...

Well here's round two:

All my organization level are horrendously low, I suppose I need doctrines to improve that? Or is it something else?

Does improving fortifications, etc. in a province lower it's IC output?

Yeah, land doctrines increase the max org of your armies. I think my armored Div's have about 112 org right now. Although you said you were playing France, right? I believe I recall something about democratic(or maybe allied?) countries armies having a max org of 25 before the war. It might have been a suggestion or something though, so I wouldn't be too sure about that.

As far as I know, any improvement to a provence will take 1/2 of it's production.

Your unit Organizations are limited to 25% of max while a Democracy at peace. I think if you 'elect the right' in an election you may get the Organization without the need for war. I think.

Hope that helps.
=)

The low organisation is one of the 'undocumented features' - see the thread on this.

Basically for democracies, your max organisation is 1/4 what it normally should be if you are not at war.

Ok, last one for tonight:

I researched MG tanks (or something close to that), thinking I needed that to get to the bigger stuff (light tanks, etc.). So i researched 20mm tanks guns and then 30mm, and when I go to research light tanks it says, " You went down another research path." I can still research amphibious tanks, but not light tanks anymore. So basically what I'm asking is: Can I still get tanks, and if not, where did I go wrong?

Thanks

You only get one gun type per chassis choice.
So the bad news is you outta luck for that chassis.
Forever MG armed, you don't want those anyhow. =)

Get bigger guns on the next one.
Notice it says deactivates tank such and such tech in the discription.

Sorry dude, did it myself if it makes ya feel any better. =)

Yea, you gotta watch out for those advances that deactivate other techs. I think a few doctrines do the same thing.

Was it basic light tanks with MGs you researched? If so you can still research improved and advanced light tanks with different guns.

Ah, it's that time again people.

Here ya go:

What do the numbers mean by the industrial capacity thing? I had 0/215 (which is good?), now i have 2/215 and nothing seems to have changed. I understand the second number, but what does the first mean? I have an absoloutly massive amount of resources, so there can't be anything wrong with that...

The second number is the total IC working (i.e. that you have resources for and are not freezed by imporevements). The first is the number of excess IC - working but not allocated to production/supply/research/CG.

Always research the tank gun under artillery BEFORE you research the tank under armour. Once you choose a gun for your chassis, that's it.

I'm not developing provinces anymore. The IC's are too important. Literally, if the province has an industry over 3, its not worth the effort. AA? Buy fighters, they work much better. Coastal? A strong offense is a strong defense. Infrastructure? There's a better road next province. IC's? Sure, after I've conquered Europe and there's thirty little 1's and 3's to upgrade ;)

Ok people, I've got a problem. It's 1940 and nothing has happened. No war. Poland refused Germany's demands, and for some reason Germany has not declared war. I was playing on Normal/Normal, but I then up'ed it to Hard/Aggressive. What's going on?
