Could we get a FaQ of exactly what will carry over in some form into CK3 from CK2 Paradox from the DLC?
This is the first time a Paradox heavy DLC game has gotten a sequel. People are going to be coming over with very high expectations, and I'm not sure "the base CK2 but prettier" is going to work at launch. A FaQ of some sort to go over what's coming over and what isn't would be really helpful to help manage hype. Obviously quite a lot of the DLC features ( better Faction system! ) I just expect to be present through new systems. But there was a lot of content there.

Basically going down a list, can we expect

Muslim starts.
Republic starts.
Pagan starts and 867 start date.
Jewish starts.
India.
769 start.
Way of Life seems in, from screenshots.
Nomadic governments. ( And I'll just throw this all together with it from previous DLC, but differing government type per cultures. )
Conclave wouldn't be needed, Council will be a reworked base feature I assume.
Plague, disease and the Black Death.
Secret Societies.
Bloodlines, Holy Orders, Shattered Worlds.

I realize a lot of this probably can't be talked about until later when we start getting gameplay, but even coming out early and saying "yes you can play Muslim, Jewish, Pagan, and Republic starts with base CK3. They all will play differently." would go a long way to building up hype among cynical people.

Read my post where I TL DR the stream.
TL DR of TL DR
We will get all of old map, with some extensions in Tibet and Africa. Everyone is playable.
Republicas/nomads are cut, nomads will be changed into tribals.
Bloodlines are pretty much all but conformed, as probably are secret societies.
Way of Life is obviously in, as are fully dynamic religions.

I watched, and I am glad to hear the news, however... the bucket helms. I am not excited at the continuation of ahistorical equipment for western warrior elites. Also, please do not do what y'all did to Imperium. Let it be a complete and deep experience from the get go, and have the best features from CkII. Also, no China?
Yeh ... sad to see no China ... honestly I am a bit tired of waiting 5 years everytime to see a completed game

Eeehhh...

Got to say, not really interested at the moment. I'm not sufficiently into the historical side that any of the bits that might appeal to the history buffs that could be in CK3 but not 2 (like, cadet branches, it is?) particularly get my interest. I STILL have never finished my first CK2 game, I haven't touched Imperator yet, not Stellaris or EUIV for a while. So kinda at the minute, CK3 doesn't seem like it's appealing to me much, since it's going to take I would imagine, a fair bit of time to crank it up to the level CK2 is now in terms of Stuff.

So I'm just not bothered at the moment (I have SO much to play, I'm like, years into backlog!)

Judgement is thus held until information is pending.

I might well pick it up eventually, after release. I mean, you nearly always need to give PDX games a good few patches and such before you play anyway, right? (Though to be fair, I tend to find this with EVERYONE'S games...)

We shall, I suspect see.

CKII is what made me a Paradox fan. I'm so thrilled that CKIII has been announced at last. I can't wait to see what Paradox can do with the Crusader Kings framework and 6 years of advancements.

i must say I like ck2 design in preety much all aspects better than what I seen in the few screenshots about ck3 and ck3 prob will need several years worth of DLC's to even be able to challenge CK2 in terms of complexity. I prob not buying this, at least not for a year or 2. I am assume this also means that ck2 will not recieve any more DLC's :(

Yeah, as far a play-ability goes there is no republics/nomads are being changed into tribals.

As far as Bloodlines go, they haven't name-dropped that, but dev that was speaking was putting real emphasis on how you develop your dynasty through the ages and rulers you have, so again it's pretty much conformed, I'd also expect secret societies to be there, as they were very popular, and dev haven't mentioned cutting them, as opposed to normads/republics.

Well, I'll eat my words. I had pretty consistently pooh-poohed the idea that CK3 could possibly come before V3, considering CK2 is from a newer era than V2: CK2 first released later, had its most recent DLC more recently, had its last patch more recently, had crazy and not-so-crazy Steam achievements implemented, had native Linux support, was on this side of the decision to give their games umpteen DLCs for years after launch.

But I'd rather eat my words than eat my hat, especially if my words are "roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, and chocolate cake for dessert" rather than "chronic exposure to mercury nitrate used in the felting process led to bioaccumulation of the heavy metal in the bodies of hatters, resulting in the deterioration of their mental state".

By the same account they can use it to live out their fantasy of blinding their rivals and impregnating their mother. You can't really police people's fantasies.
What? Why would anyone want to play CK2 just so they can seduce and impregnate their mother? That's, like... I don't even know why you would mention something so implausible, why would anyone do that? I know I sure wouldn't, and I don't know why anyone would. Why would you even suggest that's what I'm playing for? *looks around nervously*

I'm going to be honest. Everytime I see this kind of no pause cycle-productions, I fear for the quality, and especially for the "spirit" of the product. I hope I'm wrong this specific time

6. There’s no “Deus Vult”.
In the years since CK2’s release, “Deus Vult” – an eleventh century crusader battlecry – has become a vile meme beloved of racists on the internet.

Can't wait to see what else is scrubbed from this historical game (or any other future title) because of racists on the internet. God I'm so sick of these internet kiddies who get to claim ownership of history and take away from others who simply enjoy history; because they find it fascinating...and that's all.

On the bright side, wit CK3 coming first, EU5 will be more refined than before. Hopefully it will delve slightly into characters and demographics.

Ooh, EU5 is also on my sights. In fact, I believe the upcoming 'Europe' update will be the Holy Fury of EU4 and, after some months of patches, they'll show us EU5 in a similar stage CK3 is now.
