Okay, so, I'm gonna TL DR the stream here, if someone doesn't want to watch stream, I might miss something, but hey, it's better then nothing.
-Dev is saying that CK2 has pretty shaky tech-base, and is not well engineered and is is getting hard to work on it, plus does not look that great. And that engine had really moved on since then, and that Imperator started development after CK3 actually, and borrowed some tech from it.
-CK2 had plans on three years worth of expansions, but it kept rolling and going because people were buying it, despite CK2 architecture and structure being more or less supposed to be for these three years of expansions, not seven. And that right now it is all kept up with glue and hope mostly.
-CK3 is medieval ruler simulator, has many playstyles/player fantasies possible, blobbing, breeding greatest family of ginger dwarfs world ever seen, etc.
-CK3 is *an evolution* of CK2, and they had not gone away from what made CK2 popular, and they had tried to carter to more of playstyles that players enjoy, like the 'breeding game'/genetics, that devs haven't done much in CK2, or as well a dynastic gameplay, which is something that wasn't used that well, game has better progression and growth in a large amount of time, it's all about leveling up and developing and giving up more and more of power to player, as well as making possible to carter to different playstyles.
-CK3 has characters in front and centre of itself, there is supposed to be much bigger focus on them, and they are supposed to be now featured in every mechanic that they weren't featured before, they should look great, and mechanics should be even better at writing emerging stories. First thing that people would notice about CK3 is 3D portrait, they do look a bit sims-ish, they have actual genetic structures to how they look, skin-tones, noses, Hapsburg shins, and inbreeding can make your character look horrible. And if you have ugly trait, it will finally be featured in your portrait. As will beautiful, and dev is saying that it's actually working
-Game will be as mod-able as ever, even more so, you will be more easy able to mod in succession laws, and things that were asked for that way. It will be possible to mod faces into the game, but it will be harder and take knowledge on things like 3D modelling, and such And devs will look into letting modders work on CK3 before it is released.
-CK3 won't feature everything from CK2, but some of CK2 features are less 'successful' then others, and less popular then others, so dev is confident that cuts that have been made won't be that missed.
- You can say that accessibility without sacrificing focus have been a focus, (dev prefers to call it user friendliness/approachable), as they don't want to dumb down their games, and it's not what they want to do as the company. Making game easier to learn is a priority, but at same time, with no depth sacrifices, so expect better UI, and this said better UI, will be one of pillars for the game, too.
-It is still grand strategy game, but paradox games are also simulators, too, but CK3 is definitely a GSG, CK3 will be made more like an RPG, though, new features are reminiscent of what you find in an RPG. Much deeper Way Of Life system, but as RPG style progression and perks, so it's RPG in a way, but it also carters to what play style you prefer.
- Scripted content is not being carried from CK2, well, very little is, but rest is not. A lot of CK2 events are all over the place, meanwhile, all of CK3 events should be ''Relevant, Impactful, Immersive'', so they are much better crafted, and of course, they want to make emergent stories better, so underlying simulation is way better at showing character behavior, so if they're irrational and greedy person, that will be reflected in a way they behave, and will drive their stories better.
- Dark side stuff in CK3 is being expanded with character secrets, so if you murdered someone, you have a secret, and that stays with you, and then someone else might learn about it, and blackmail you. And basically force you to do their will. It's very useful to have a secret on your liege, so for example, he can't revoke your title. There are all sorts of secrets, secret traits for example, it's not hugely visible, but it's something you want to work with.
-Lot of features haven't been talked about today, nor it will be, but a highlight that wasn't yet made is: One of the important words is ''Have it be your way, but be challenged.'' so it won't be easy to make world however you like, but it should be possible. For example, RELIGIONS ARE COMPLETELY DYNAMIC, AND YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN HERESIES.
- CK3 is even bigger then CK2, a bit further south in Sahara, as well as in Tibet, but no China. Devs aren't taking any of areas that CK2 added, but nomadic gameplay will be axed, and turned into tribal. Merchant republics won't make a showing either.
-Glitterhoof conformed, (okay, not really, but dev avoided the question.)
-Game won't have as much of supernatural/weird stuff as CK2, but religions have their own look on witchcraft, and it depends on what religion what they think about that, some religions think that witchcraft, some can be okay with it, some will want your head for it, but it's not *the* witchcraft, but perceived witchcraft.
-Gamerules will make a return.
-CK3 will be featured on game-pass on PC. And it seems that paradox wants to put more games on gamepass.
-CK3 is third games in the series, and it's supposed to be something else.
And that's all about CK3!
