Yeee... so excited...

To be honest, I can't stop thinking this as the second-to-last nail in the coffin of Vic3. The last, extremely thin hope is an annoucement next year but I don't have much faith in that. It will be surely EU5. This is a mourn for a beloved IP rather than a complaint. I wish the best for ck3.

Yes there is a big risk that it is EUV next, like why make a game that will sell 1 million copies than you can make one that sell 3 million copies. On other hand it is King/Wiz Project which could indicate Victoria 3.

It looks pretty.
maybe so much that its on the side of looks over information at a glance but, i'm sure the information is there once you know to look for it.
The pretty is really good.

Lets just pray it's not using imperators database style as we see it using it's pretty new style of faces.

also, focus trees for characters just, woah.

"Deus Vult" is an optional cosmetic feature of going on crusade. Holy Roman Empire is a proper name.

"Crusading" has been a bad word used pejoratively since forever, but because it's the proper name of the things they've been in the game since always (including the game name). So I am not worried.

Deus vult is the literal rallying cry of the Crusades, in a game called CRUSADER kings. It embodies the whole theological reasoning behind the Crusades and its successor States and Orders, it is a quote from the Bible itself and is the expression of the entire attitude of the extremely religious society of the time. This phrase is much more sensible for the Crusades than the name Holy Roman Empire is for the HRE, so stop with the empty excuses and stop justifying PDX for caving to the demands of groups of people who won't even contribute to the game.

I kinda see V3 as something really complicated that'd slog on silently background while other things happened until it's ready to be shown? I mean. this CK3 is v polished looking in those screens. If V3 is happening I'd expect it to take a long time because it's more complicated so wouldn't count other games being first against it.

Also, can people stop arguing about made up conspiracy theories and online clubs. The game can't be called deus vault because they already made a game called that. CKs first expansion. Heir is a more thematic name anyway as the CK franchise is 99% about dynastic politics and like.., 0.0001% about pilgrims accidentally starting a war by being caught up in turk-egypt wars over jerusalem so like, CHILL. lets be talking about the game not dragging in fringe politics.
Those portaits are pretty in the screenshots.

Also are they real screenshots or mock ups? anyone know?

Holy Roman Empire IS the name of the Empire, though. "Deus Vult" is not the name of any specific thing.

And who knows, maybe 'God Wills It' is in, since I don't think that is tainted?

I don't have super strong opinions about it but I think if it's true it's a bit silly, can we get some kind of official statement about the whole deus vult thing instead of just locking the thread about it? thanks

a meticulously detailed map that stretches from Spain to India, Scandinavia to Central Africa.
I guess Portugal is cut out of the map :p.

Now, it's just a matter of waiting 5 years for CK3 to be as good as CK2 with the good DLCs is. :D

Now, without joking, hope CK3 will just keep all the good from CK2 and improve in whatever is possible to improve.
I know I will end up buying CK3 in the future anyway, since CK2 is one of my favorite PC games. ;)

Having thought things over I have decided to cool down my hype and wait for the game to be released before I make a decision to get it or not. Its entirely possible that it will turn out well, but I'm holding on to my money until I know more and will play CK2 until I am content to know that CK3 will be a good game.

Besides I would say that after the Imperator experience I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

isnt it kind of soon to be saying what is and isnt in it?
we literally have one small dev post, with no dev replies or questions answered, and one press release style webpage that says even less?
Like probs there wont be merchant republics, but who knows at this point?
like who knows.
CK3 might be primarily focused on the random pandas and right now we wouldnt know it?

Also, anychance a CK3 with new pretty graphics might mean a Sengoku 2 as a prototype to bide over along the way? I mean I guess Imperator was that this time, but, it happened last time and was pretty boring so a chance to make a good one with all the lessons of CK2 to apply to it, and the new CK3 style pretty portraits. Are they still portraits if they have bodies or are we into just saying characters/avatars at this point?

no "deus vult" in a game called crusader kings. thats hysterical. when will people stop bowing down to those censors. the world might again see some clarity if they only stand up to it

I agree completely the facists have won again. It will not change their behaviour whatsoever, it will merely enforce and encourage them to believe they're winning as reasonable, sensible, rational people are forced into irrational and cowardly (and finance first I might add) behaviours like this, at the behest of the lunatic fringe of SJW's and their ilk. These morons haven't got a clue about how you fight racism and facism, here's a clue idiots, its not by forcing irrationalities on reasonable people who are just as vehemently opposed to facism/racism as you are.

These fools are ruining everything they cast their gaze upon while the far right laughs at them and grows stronger by the day.

Good job morons, removing Deus Vult from an as yet unreleased computer game will really damage the far right...

In any news, pleased to see CKIII on the way, though I will definitely not be pre-ordering after the IR debacle, but this will give me the impetus to really get to grips with CKII, now I've put EUIV to bed until next years European expansion.

:D

we literally have one small dev post, with no dev replies or questions answered, and one press release style webpage that says even less?

In the stream it has been said that Merchant Republics won't be playable, and that Nomads will be Tribals (nomadic gameplay didn't fit in CK3 it seems, and is broken in CK2 anyway)

Hope they recorded or transcripted it or something and will post it for us late on the cart peeps.
Anyway thanks.

Going to need to see what this game adds from CK2. At the moment all I'm seeing is a new map (Which I'm not overly enthused by) and the XP aspects (which i'm really not excited about as it sounds very gamey). Talking of less breadth than CK2 + Expansions doesn't sound great.
The only thing that's perked my ears up so far is the addition of siege weapons. But the game is a long way from release, I'll keep an eye on it.
