Was playing me a game of the ol' stellaris, when i suddenly realised i had not seen this leviathan in about a year of human time.

when is the last time anyone saw the Spectral Wraith?

I used to get this one all the time back in the 1.X patch cycle, had it once or twice early in the 2.0 release.
Since early 2.0 I've not set [optical sensory organs/inputs] on one of these majestic, annoying, territory and choke point ruining beasts.

Can we have a quick show of hands to see if it's still out there? do we need to add it to the galactic endangered species list?

I just had it run through my entire empire a couple of days ago.

He still seems healthy and he says hi.

Had a spectral wraith in my current game, but it suicided into an enclave. I've never seen the enigmatic fortress tho. Only had one game without a dragon in it.

In my last game pending at 1400 due to being unplayable I had a spectral wrath spawn, killed the drake and the scavenger drone. I know there's a matriarch on some distant system and I'm pretty sure an AI empire killed one too.

No issue with leviathans here. It might depends on your game setup or galaxy size though (I only ever play with huge galaxies, so I could not tell if there's less if the galaxy is smaller, would make sense)

Damn thing spawned last week. After trashing a bunch of systems I claimed ahead of another empire, it went off on its merry way, getting killed by some FP.

The wiki states that galaxy size does matter. Each leviathan having 80% spawn chance at huge, dropping to 16% at tiny.

I have seen them all of late, I have been rolling galaxies to see and test some things.

I think the biggest factor for not seing them now is they are not as strong proportionally to the latest fleet mechanics. When they first came out, they seemed to flumox the AI empires until the AI was putting out 40k fleets, and even then the AI would ignore/avoid them till late into the mid game.

Now I feel that the AI might remove them or risk a fight with them when they have 20k fleets. The number of times I have found empty leviathan systems ( ie. Black Hole named Gargantuan etc.. ) that is empty... And this can be in the early game... Or the AI has been taught corvette swarm?

But yeah, Spectral Wraith is still around, I feel he might wander into trouble, since the others don't normally move (system-wise that is) much.

They are much, much rarer these days, but I also just had one show up recently too.
