What a great time to be a BattleTech and MechWarrior fan.

HBS BattleTech launches its Heavy Metal DLC which takes the game to a whole new level.

In 5 days, MechWarrior 5 demo will release for the community pre-orders. This as been precluded by the first installment of a new piece of fiction by Randall Bills that tells the story of how the MW5 mercenary unit that you will command was formed. The game itself will release two weeks later.

Catalyst Game Labs is releasing new fictions and art in preparation for the coming Clan Invasion box set for table top that will start shipping to backers in March.

I have no idea where I am going to find the time to do everything that I want to do in the coming weeks.

It is! I never thought I'd see the franchise come back from relative obscurity (at least PC/Video game wise) with this much force. It is amazing.

MWO, as controversial as it is did get the ball rolling, HBS released an amazing BT game, HG finally put to rest, the new CGL kickstarters blowing up, and despite the uncertainty with PGI's abilities, MW5 is looking incredibly promising. It's a good time.

I'm just glad that the train wreck that was MW:T didn't cause any long term damage to the brand.

The only side effect of this resurgence is I am getting a bit...greedy maybe? Like I now want a new MechCommander style game and a new MechAssault title (or re-release previous ones on PC).

Hmmm!!! Now, to get Jordan and Mitch the opportunity to pitch a “BATTLETECH” movie to Amazon Prime Executives! After all Amazon’s current HQ’s is in Seattle, Jordan and Mitch probably bump into Jeff at the local Starbucks! Yeah, a BATTLETECH series - Yang, Sumire, Darius, the whole gang. (My daughters tell me that Tom Holland would make an absolutely SMASHING MechWarrior Dekker!) : )

Come on!

$1b for a Lord of the Rings prequel series... or series of series(?) with an option for streamed Movies(?) - I guess a Billion Dollars buys a lot these days! : )

Surely Jeff Bezos, who might be amongst us right now (mild mannered @MeiSooHaityu by day... hmmm?) could see the potential in a BATTLETECH Major Motion Picture, with John Wu directing, Jordan as Technical Director and Mitch as an Executive Producer... EXECUTIVE PRODUCER... can you imagine the stories behind the scenes on a set like THAT!
