an easier tutorial how to create a new country

I saw that many of you ask about an easier way to create a new country.So,here we go:
What do you need:
-HOI2 Doomsday
-http://xie.dyndns.org/~flagdir/ for flags and shields
-patience
We are going to create Aland(province 103)

1.Open World Names file from doomsday\config
2.Scroll down at U00 and change "user defined" to Aland
3.Open revolt.txt from doomsday\db scroll down and write:
U11 = {
date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1936 }
expirydate = { day = 30 month = december year = 1947 }
minimum = {
103
}
extra = { }
capital = 103
}
In future, take as exemple those that already exists.
4.Open your editor,then scenarios
5.Write at scenario: 1936
6.Scroll down at U11 and press add,then selectable (pic 1)
7.Go at "provinces",and find aland.
8.Go at the country tag list,at left, and select FIN (pic 2)
9.Disable: Controlled and Owned(province 103) (pic 2)
10.Go at the country tag list,at left, and select U11(pic 3)
11.Enable:Controlled, Owned and National(province 103) (pic 3)
12.Now go to country button and at "include file name for country tag" write aland.This is how our country will be named in scenarios\1936 (pic 4)
Most of important things where done by now.Let's say we let it so...
13.Go at check button and...check all the things. (pic 5)
14.This is not necesary,but is nice: go at http://xie.dyndns.org/~flagdir/ press europe and download aland's flag and shield.
15.rename it's flag to flag_U11 and the shield at shield_U11
16.Copy and paste flag_U11 in the flag directory from gfx\map.
17.Copy and paste shield_U11 in the shield directory from gfx\map.
18.Enjoy Aland!!!

Since you seem to be a nice guy, I've got a couple of questions. I'm trying to write an AAR, but I need some technical skills first.
1. How do I take a screenshot?
2. how do i post a screenshot?

I'll try to answer to all questions:
1.Gigalocus,are you sure that you selected FIN from the country tags list?If you do not select FIN,you cannot change the controller of that province.
2.To take a screen,press ctrl and PrintScreenSysRq at the same time.Then paste it in paint and save the picture on JPEG.
3.Make yourself an account at imagesock.com or photobucket.com
4.I don't know...

Oh, and I'm going to take some screens,to show better what to do.

Could someone also write a brief instruction of how to create a "revolt" country? It's country which doesn't exist in game at first but can be liberated. I know it should be more simple but could anyone tell me exactly how to do this? Thx in advance.

I'm having trouble editing the world_names file. The .csv file wouldn't open at first, so I tried opening it with WordPad. When I was finished editing the file (I changed U00 from User Defined to "New England") I tried to save but it said "access to [file name] was denied."

Any help would be great.

him_15,to create a revolter,is the same thing.
1.Edit the world_names.csv and add your country name at U00
2.go at revolt.txt,take as exemple a country that already exists
3.open the editor and follow the instructions with adding removing provinces.
Belgaesur, world_names.csv should open from the first.If not,DO NOT USE NOTEPAD!!!Because si an excel file,not an word file.It can be very dangerous.Retry or reinstall your game..

How we can create a country which is not yet independant, please? Like a colony (Example: Algeria for France, Sarawak for UK) or an occupied state (Georgia or Belarus for occupied USSR)...I found that Zaire (for Belgium)or other kinds of nations, were not able to exist in Doomsday...

Is the same thing with the revolter asked by him_15.Edit the world_names.csv,edit revolt.txt and to be sure check with the editor.

That's simple...Declare war...Occupy...Liberate!

In your case..If you are playing as France and you want to liberate Algeria...you can always click the diplomatics or whatever tab, then click France, and since provinces in Algeria are not French core provinces, you just select "liberate" and it will come out a list of countries you can liberate...the same thing for countries like Indochina or Cambodia...But these provinces got to be in your own hands!

Creating a country is easy...but to make it playable and decorate it with events, leaders, and ministers is much more difficult.

another way to set up countries is to
1) make your entries in the revolt.txt file as to which provinces belong
2) write custom independence events, first loading as the country which it is becoming independent from. For custom events, look at the japan.txt, ussr.txt, and nationalistchina.txt files for guidance.
All these files are in the db/events folder
